Took the car out for one last blast before it's winter lay-up , however being K-Jetronic I won't make the mistake of not running the car up to temp once a month during this time !

Changed the coolant and replaced the front belly pan. When the PO did the water pump his shop used the green stuff, Prestone, even though the records show several previous changes with Zerex G-05. Roger got me the parts and the DIY article here made the job a snap just a little messy. Very clean fluid coming out. Now I have to find a place to dispose close by. The parts houses won't take it.

I dropped mine off at hazardous waste collection day locally but I also heard it is possible to simply flush it down the toilet. I am leery of the latter because it is poison and I worry about pets.
Btw to be true to the thread I put up the 928 for the winter in my newly cleaned, lit, organized (and shoveled) garage. I couldn’t do much about the tinyness though.

i couldn’t find anyone to take it. I heard that is because my state doesn’t consider it hazardous and therefore doesn’t require retailers to take back the used when if they sell the new.

I take mine to the local landfill/recycle center. They accept "HazMat" stuff on a scheduled, appointment basis. Although antifreeze isn't classified as "hazmat" by the DOT, it can't be disposed of in the trash or regular recycling.

Did a round trip to Columbia Monday & Tuesday of this week for work - about 150 miles each way with the semi-working cruise control set up near 90 for a good bit of it - they're such amazing highway cruisers. I say semi-working because my cruise control has an interesting feature where it works fine as long as I don't make a change to any electric accessory after engaging it. If I touch the blinker stalk to change lanes, it interrupts while the blinker is in use, then resumes on it's own when I release the stalk. Same thing if I put a window up or down while it's engaged - guess it's just really sensitive to any voltage fluctuation. Not bothersome enough to tear into it at this point - just kind of funny.
With the Z06 6-speed, I was barely running over 2,000 RPM in top gear at that speed. Supercharger will still climbs the hills, but more aggressive passing maneuvers require a gear drop or 2. I enjoy the car more with the top down, but still fun to let her stretch her legs even when things cool down, like they did this week - upside: more power from the colder intake air.

Replaced the leaky O rings on the GTS injectors(cylinders 5-8). Started the engine, and checked again for leaks. I just love hearing the sound of that smooth 5.4L. Now to get it inspected, re-register it, and drive the **** out of it.
