No they don't. The owner can accept or reject the initial insurance valuation. The problem is than many people fail to realize that it is a negotiation and give up without fighting for what the car is actually worth.

The insurance adjuster's job is to pay out as little as possible. It's up to the owner to only accept a fair value settlement. It is just like any other negotiation between seller and buyer except the buyer in this case is legally obligated to buy the car. The ACV is whatever both parties agree upon.

It usually takes some effort to find comps to back your claim of a higher ACV than what insurance typically offers, but with some leg work it's not too hard to get a fair settlement.

That's what I was thinking. Check for comps on Bring a Trailer.

WOW!!! Two Things...1st, Hands down they are the best pics of a "for sale" car I have seen anywhere, the lighting is spot on, the detail is magical, it screams honesty!!!!

2nd, a somewhat rhetorical question, you have explained this in a previous thread i seem to recall, WHY THE BLEEPS ARE YOU SELLING SUCH A GEM!!!!

Ok, uh, anyway, well done and I sincerely hope you make a good sale.

Yea I still have to wrap my head around this one. Red / Black is traditionally a home run color combination. It's a very clean car with good miles.

Maybe it's the "dealer flipper" driving people away. Maybe questions on the repaint bothering some prospective buyers. There is nothing wrong with Hankook tires, but it does give the impression the "best" wasn't used. I know dealers who are careful to put "name brand" tires on cars they expect to get more money for.

Sometimes the right two people are just not bidding...... Maybe lifting the reserve would have enticed more people to bid (common method at live auctions to drive up excitement, not sure if that would work on BAT).

You never accept the first, or even second offer. The last accident claim I was involved with, by the time I was done arguing the offer was doubled, then I hit them with diminished value which added another $750 to the payout. I ended up receiving about 75% of full KBB retail value and I kept the car.

It's a negotiation and they are NOT on your side, ever. You've got nothing to lose by pushing back and being a real pain in their ***.

Thanks for that, I wish I could say I had *planned* the way the palm trees reflect in the hood where I parked there, but it was just my luck after all and adds an air of glamour to the whole shoot.

Knowing how much it costs to properly repaint a 928, I would be suspicious of a dealer who repainted a car to flip it. Uh oh, better get Maaco!

This one looks interesting. Price seems good, but I know nothing of the condition.

Good luck "Sleuthing" without a V.I.N. Not in OC registry.

This looks sharp. May be a re-post. Not sure how long it has been for sale.
68,000 Miles, 1980 5 speed
Little high on the price, may still have aluminum lower ball joints
