So we're you 5 pictures shy of getting your asking price Nate?

Lol, yep, only got $800 for it. So by Craigslist math that is $40/photo or (4% of asking price)/(photo). That '87 S4 has an asking price of $32,500 and 4% of that is $1,300. Therefore since it is 16 photos short of a full gallery the hit will be $20,800 leaving a final sale price of $11,700. Can't argue science.

I would agree, little steep for the car. Wonder how good his Porsche mechanic is?

They are calling the miles actual, and I don't see anything glaring to dispute it. Easy fix!

My guess is that he ran under something and caught the hood. Pulling it out really did the nasty damage.

That is a Rennlist member's car from St. Louis. His user name is jerybak. His son was driving the car and rear ended a truck. The nose went under the bumper I think. That is what took out the headlights. When the truck pulled away it grabbed the radiator and everything else forward. The insurance settlement was marginal if he would have kept the car. Even with 928INTL used parts, the amount they offered may or may not have covered the paint required. He decided to let it go and is flying out to CA to pick up a 2003 911 he got off BaT a couple weeks ago.

The speedo was changed before he got it. I think the title shows this or there is a sticker somewhere.

Most of the parts are bolt on/bolt off (rad, trans cooler, hood, fenders) except the nose part that the hood catch/release mounts to. I am not sure how that part of the car is attached, but 928 INTL does sell it separately.

There are threads on this car on the forum. Just search for his name. It ran very good, but a leakdown test did show #1 was lazy. When he had Porken chips in it, he had to run the stock plugs because the colder one kept fouling on #1.

Tires only had about 4000 miles on it, but the fronts are toast since whoever aligned it jacked the car up. The steel belts are showing on the inside.

Timing belt was changed last year and has a Porken tensioner. If anyone is interested I can try to give more info.

As I just wake up in Vegas looking out my window at the water fountain show and clearing my head from my son and I's poker marathon last night, I see this post and it brings me a touch of sadness, the only saving thought is when I recall the run we made from Fremont, CA to Vegas yesterday in our new to us 2003 996 C4s, and the words my boy said last night as walked back to our room,"dad this is easily one of the best days of my life, thank you!"

I have already started to build some relationships in the 996 world, thanks Kevin L., that being said, I will own another 928 at some point again and look forward to maintaining the friendships I have built from the 928 world as that 928 above being sold was a labor of love for several people, Mike B is one hell of wrench and friend, as such I will be sending him a free 996 Workshop Manual.....lol.

The 928 car on auction above has right at 60K miles on it, the odometer was changed by the PO at a local shop and their is a sticker on the door jam stating just that from them. I have all the receipts, dates, miles, etc of everything we did to the car, you can see most of it from my posts on RL. IMO it was well sorted, with the exception of No.1, which was a non issue after jumping back to OEM plugs.

PS. if you ever get the opportunity to drive from the CA Bay area to Vegas, the roads were built for P Cars with Valentine1's.

Isn't the insurance required to pay actual cash value of the car?

A nice red S4 just failed on Bring a Trailer. Reserve not met at $16,500. The car has 56K miles so, it's a real crap-shoot over there. After last week's "batmobile" S4 sold for $18K with 100K miles it just seems crazy.
