shouldve gone see it today. I missed the 86.5 part. It was advertised as 87 first with an obvious old rear end. I didn't know it's decryption changed. Now manual s3 for $5k, in interested.
^ Nice looking car, really like that color and Uni-Stoffe interior is in excellent condition! Needs an original radio and top end refresh to take this to the next level. I didn't realize the that they carried the one-side mirror into 1980. Was that normal?
From what I've learned here, the single side mirror was available well into the 80's, although I doubt many were built that way. It seems to be extremely uncommon, even for an OB.
I do love the color on this one! Great car, other than 2 rear fog lights & the steering wheel being on the wrong side.
Yep! Now this is a true barn find. Great catch. I read a different article that was posted in that other thread and wondered if he had a 928 but didn't see one in the pictures. Hopefully someone one here can find out more about it. Pasha perhaps? Looks to have a rub strip but hard to tell on my phone's screen.
edit: I figured I would reach out to Ron via the email that was posted. I'll report back if I hear from him. I bet he is getting inundated with inquiries and visitors since the story went national.

So I just got off the phone with Ron. He is a super nice guy. Chatted with him for about 15 minutes about his 928 and how things are going with selling off his other cars. With regards to the 928 he said he wishes they didn't post the picture of it because that is one of the few cars he is going to keep and work on. That is why it was in one of his buildings. Anyway the car is a Euro 1979, 5-speed with Pasha interior and 32K miles on the odometer. He says it's in really good shape. He bought it from a local dealer years ago. I didn't ask him what he paid for it.
He said it wasn't high on the list of keeper cars he was going to restore, but that he definitely wanted to get around to it. I told him about RL and gave him Roger's information told him to reach out to him when it came time to work on it. He was very appreciative of that and said he would give Roger a call some day. I hope he does and hope you Michigan guys see him out cruising around in it one of these years.

Reason: Added pic of Ron's 928
I'm sure he's got the best intentions, but let's be realistic: He's not going to get around to doing anything to that car. Eventually it's going to get sold off by his heirs just as it is now.
When I first saw the articular (b4 posted here) I didn't see a 928 in any pics, however my first thought was if he cleaned out the junk from those buildings he would have room inside for the "keepers". Look at that stack of old tires, there is room for another car inside right there.
Township states he can't have them outside, inside is OK.

So what's the deal on this one, did anyone go have a look see ?
