I would pay close to that price in Tony's Mokka.

Oh man...I cannot unsee what I just saw...and right when my car is under agreement. I'm a sucker for that color combo. Need to step away. Wow.

I have to say it was an honor to own a poster-car of my youth. Unfortunately, while I haven't been much of a member of the 928 on-line community, I came to learn that the community is one of the most passionate and down to earth bunch I have ever seen. The 928 is simply one of the most underrated and underappreciated cars, ever...which means I'll probably be back, and buying at a market premium once the rest of the world wakes up.

Drive them like the under appreciated classic they are (and have a spare one to hoon with!)

Thanks!

Would you pay that for a 1981 928 with 20k miles, mocha brown 5-speed with brown/tan interior?

Holy smokes, Chuck. It even has the correct P7s from the day! I would think the range is $15k-$30k off the cuff, the huge disparity caused by so much pertinent info absent.

3 owners including me (2nd owner had it for 20+ years)
No accidents or paintwork (verified with a paint meter)
Never modified
Records (as many as a 20k mile car would have)
Original purchase docs and window sticker
All maintenance up to date (all fluids, timing belt/water pump and associated parts done by the legendary Mo Zahr within the last two months)
Spare set of 16" phone dial PC'd by 928 Classics with new tires (to preserve the P7's)
Interior in near mint condition with NO leather shrinkage
Gas tank currently removed to replace leaky hose (the one from the filler neck through the body to the large part of the tank
The carrier damage one of the rear half shafts and that too will be repaired/replace as necessary
Radio and antenna do not power up, currently investigating - may be a fuse
Under hood insulation replaced

What else?

Correct only GB.

That is a very rare 86 RHD S2 - has the 87 suspension and brakes - 310HP. Not a simple 16v as someone said.

86.5 (S3) is a rare model in EU, S2 is not so.

Sorry, but the S2 is an ordinary model in EU. Nothing special and it's 16V. Check mobile.de
It's not in the same class as the 86.5 (S3).
Shows how ill informed you are about the 928 8>). The 16v S2 is more powerful and faster than the 32v S3. The 86 S3 ROW was never sold as an 86.5 as that was only in USA/CAN.

Both the ROW 86 S2 16v & 86 S3 32v had the S4 suspension and brakes. The S2 16v runs rings around an S3 32v.

Far from being ordinary and WAY more desirable.
