Hoi - I wouldn't doubt if that's an original pascha or pinstripe car as well due to the look of the insert replacement. ...
Alex - those bolsters look like leather to me, and correct me if I am wrong, but the cloth inserts (pasha, pinstripe, tartan, etc) were only used with vinyl?

Ancient microfiche I have show leather and pasha upholstery
The fact that I have microfiche, along with my excitement about this radio, may give away my age
That radio is frickin' cool! Was that a Porsche option ever?
I have seen more than one 928 with that setup years ago when I was in the business and working on Porsches regularly. The 84 auto I used to have had that setup that came that way from the factory. Definitely unique but I remember it not being that great. I would take one now for nostalgia.
But sitting right here in snow!
Mold everywhere. Learned my lesson
I don't know - cheap enough, if that's an NOS dash that's a pretty rare high $$ item in and of itself..odd that it has S4 rear wheels front AND rear. WIsh it were Rochester, NY..., not MN...
I have been a lurker for a while but am considering jumping off the high dive into 928 ownership. Actually headed to see this car today:
https://austin.craigslist.org/cto/5949673555.html
I have read much of the good-luck-here's-what-you-need-to-know-as-a-newbie posts, so basically I know that I don't know at all what I'm getting into. Which is great, I'm ready for that.
Goal for 1st 928 is to 1) have fun, spend time driving because the car works and 2) learn about classic car ownership. I'd rather not spend all my time and money in the shop, and I'm not looking for any concourse ogling. I just want to drive a badass old sports car. Like y'all do.
So, is there anything else any of y'all can glean from this post that I should check out? And does anyone have a current reccomendation for an Austin 928 mechanic?
