Would guess the head unit that looks like...Bonus: 8" H4's, 3 of the 4 16" dials unstuffed, rear cargo cover, etc. Looks like it's all there. This car was loved and bet the original owner will cry when it pulls out of the driveway. T
Could be the Bamburg QTS by that point but not sure of exact date when the transition took place. My 78-79's have the Porsche CR (also known as a 'Bamburg'), along with my '80 Euro. The '82 Weissach has a Bamburg QTS. My '81 Euro had a 'Radio prep' without a radio so I guess any 'period' radio would be 'correct'.
Is anyone sure this is not the head unit that came from the factory ? If not, at least this current head unit looks period correct and the trim surround isn't butchered (NLA and $$$ if you can find a good used one). Alex out of curiosity, how many head units do you now have sitting on your garage shelves (not counting the units installed in the OB's ? TIA T

Very doubtful that's a factory unit. I have one of those in one of my '79's (maybe in two but it's in storage so I can't run out there and check). Does not say 'PORSCHE' on the tape flap. Likely a period replacement or car ordered 'radio prep' and dealer put this in.
AFAIK they went from the 'Bamburg' CR (78-80) unit to the Bamburg QTS (81-83) to the Monterey (84-86) then Reno(87-89)....my dates may be rough estimates but the series changed in that order.
Freakin' $36k 1978 5 speed Pascha car on COPART of all places! Very odd venue....looks nice although another Silver one....US car VIN: 9288200142, looks to have a lot of the little pieces intact as well....

Usually don't need to be a dealer on these off-site sales like this. Just pay a premium over and above what a dealer would pay. There are fees with copart even for dealers on every lot.
What's up with the half pascha rear seats? Was that an option?
No
Lotta other stuff wrong here as well. Wrong Radio, steering wheel, intake tubes, & exhaust, mileage status is 'incorrect', no jump pst sleeve, has a dash cap on pod so that's likely it's cracked, carpet faded to green, can barely make out '03' on COA if so that should be Black Leatherette with tan/black Pascha and this looks to be Black/White pascha. (Pascha clearly has been redone and not to a good standard) Good bones but a bit of a plainer...wonder if it has reserve on it...
Sold for $36k - that bodes well for the car I am selling - maybe I need to ask more.
