I don't think Herman will be back on the road until late October at this rate. This weekend I will do the control arm bushes. To be honest I still can't see why Dan called them out. I guess I will find out when I have the arms off.

My take on it is that on finally seeing that parked truck and the opposing traffic he gives her a touch of brakes (or at least a sudden lift of the accelerator) just before the apex of that last turn and the back starts to step out as you'd expect. He looks to catch it with some (possibly too gradual?) countersteer but that carries him out too wide into the opposing lane and he ends up being pretty much forced to turn back in towards his own lane and brake before he's caught it properly, firing it into that final spin.
Without that touch of braking at the apex the car would almost certainly have made the turn in its own lane, though the usual and advised gentle roll on of acceleration needed for it to do that properly would then leave him limit braking to try to pull up before the truck, or more likely give that photographer a bit of a code brown moment as he cut right of the truck after scrubbing off most of his speed.
Driving slower and/or reading the road better further ahead would have avoided this of course but once he finally saw that situation, apart from avoiding the touch of brakes (or lift off the accelerator) at the apex I'm not sure most of us would have done much better at that speed once the rear came loose. At least the transporter took the other half of the final hit and not the Mercedes SL pagoda.

The FB commentary also focuses on the use of slicks on the road and the lack of traction on painted lines.

Red 964 C2 on TM looks great. Assumes no prior accident history Id say a good buy for someone. Like the sport seats and personally impartial to lighter interiors in these small cars. Mileage at 198K km not far above other 964 in the group most of which seem to be averaging around 150k km these days etc Its good some money has been spent on the car over the last 20 years, however there is no doubt that any **** enthusiast will find abother 10K plus to get it just the way they wish it to be. Id imagine the auction will be well subscribed and id expect the car to go between 55-65K?
I love his stuff. He says he personally likes the format hes doing at the moment. I suppose he has creative control and isn't editorialized
Here some (many) pix from the 2015 Porsche Werks Reunion (xpost for those not on FB). I' getting a real hankering for an outlaw 356

The car didn't touch those rippled yellow lines until the rear had already let go with classic 911 lift off oversteer but they would've made tidy and quick recovery harder.
Looking at it again, the compression at the apex of the outside front that I first thought came from braking/lift-off may just have been some extra weight transfer resulting from clipping the apex a bit too tight and hitting a bump on the inside with the rear wheels (ie a jump drift).
