20% vat to pay on this , 15% on cars 30-50 years old , 5 % on vehicles over 50 years old or of historic interest and only handful built.

Will be very interested to see where it goes price wise and geographically .
Thanks for the info. To be honest I think 200,000 km in any car requires a complete renovation or re baseline to maintain its value. This car could have had that, not sure but anything above $50,000 is taking a punt unless you have a strong PPI as the costs build so quickly e.g. Today I received my control arm bushes. $300 for parts and who knows how much to fit (I'll do it myself), but I imagine we're talking the thick end of $700+ and that's just the start with a 25 year old car.

Not very interesting but I got my tank back today, APTS in Pakuranga did a great job with a neat brazed patch and all for ninety bucks. Recommended. Points for the dude recognising it as a 911 tank in 5 seconds but then points off when he attempted to write Porsche on the job sheet and gave up at Pors.

This may be useful for some.

https://www.gov.uk/importing-vehicle...outside-the-eu

Assume someone buys this car for 65K NZD and exports it. The landed cost in UK, on road and assumes PPI, shipping, Insurance, VAt and first time tax/registration and a small allowance for compliance and plates in UK would make it approximately 39K GBP allowing a little for unexpected costs along the way...

No harm in just being a lurker. Theres a surprising amount of good pcar content. Just join or like the pcar groups/pages and don't have any friends. They'll just post up there kids soccer photos

^^^^^ I agree. A lot more pcar photos and videos and threaded conversations make it pretty good. Plus the apps and website actually work properly

Nice to know these are still out there, makes Dougs NZ New lower mileage version even more desirable. This interior looks like linen rather than cream, cool to see it has the sports seats.

Not sure who is intending to participate on the 20th September Playdays Prestige at HD? I think it is also PCNZ drive your Porsche day" so good way to kill two birds with one stone?

Hmmm - maybe we're the silent majority then? The moment I join it's bound to go the way of myspace anyway as all the cool kids bail out.

On the helmet front, I like that a full face like that Bell K-Sport can cover pretty much anything bar motorcycling (eg sports/saloons, targa, speedway, single seaters) and is designed for use with neck restraints. I have that model and the only downside of note is that it is heavier than I'd like. Beyond potential fatigue (not a problem for one hour races though, nor on Targa) another downside of that is perhaps the extra force in a crash (though with the weight of a head in it, there's probably only about 10pc more force exerted than with a carbon one). Some pricier helmets offer better ventilation and comms options too of course. In a fully caged car with proper 5 or 6 point restraints I'd probably be happy with an open face as is typically used for rallying, but with just a standard 3 point lap-sash you can't be sure where your face will end up in anything but a simple full frontal impact so I'm happy to have some better protection.

Was planning to get out to scavenge BBs carcase with the rest of the troops last weekend BTW (practiced most of it on Pick-a-Part's Integra already) but pulled baby sitting duties at home. Thanks for the paddock racing clip John. Reminded me of a mid-western truck rodeo, though they looked to have a lot more bikini girls attending.
