I've just stumbled upon this thread also, so should probably chip in... I'm in Hamilton, and have a 86 944. It's not my daily driver (although usually I can't resist driving it to work once a week), but we use it whenever we go away. My partner's family live about four and a half hours away in the eastern BOP, so we do that trip quite often. The last half of that trip is heaven in the Porsche, with twisty roads and little traffic. Sometimes you can drive the last hour and a bit (on SH35) and count the number of other cars you see on one hand...

I'm also a PCNZ member, and have been on a lot of the events mentioned in this thread. I was at the 2008 Pukekohe Driver Training, but behind a camera instead of behind the wheel. I'm interested in doing a driver training at some point, maybe I'll get organised this year. The PCNZ weekend at Hampton Downs at the end of the July sounds like it will be a blast!

also saw this black 944, im pretty sure i met this guy on that Dec '07 pcnz cruise. it looks like he has converted it to a turbo/S2 look as it was an n/a when i last saw it.

i had uploaded them to imageshack a different way since the dashoboard changed recently/ i just tred the old way and its still not working properly- thumbnails or [img] tags, it just links them as above

let me know if it still doesnt bring up the pics...

From reading through this thread, you'd think that every driver training is done in the wet (maybe they do them in the middle of winter on purpose?), and every time someone has an off. There was an incident in 2008 as well, fairly minor though (just a bit of front bumper damage if I remember correctly).

J1nx3d you're right, it's something with this thread/forum only. I've just noticed the "Posting Rules" box at the bottom left of the page -- says that [IMG] code is off. In the other thread you mention, it's on.

I don't actually have many good pictures of my car, which is something I really should fix... I also find the 944 is challenging to photograph -- it can easily end up looking a bit chubby, for some reason.

Anyway, here are a couple. One is just a larger version of my avatar picture, the other is the car next to a large pohutukawa tree (obviously).
