Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?

Had wandered away from my car before it had turned up, and was gone by the time I returned, so didn't see it. Considered buying one a few years ago. Not the most practical, but no doubt iconic. Neat cars.

Good to see you out on Sunday Ralf. Look forward to you adding some bespoke bike carbs to the 911!
Caffeine & Classics is worth a visit for anyone interested in cars. Was expecting a much more significant muscle car/USA contingent, but was pleasantly surprised by the diverse mix of people and vehicles. Lots of fun.
Graeme, completely agree. Their driving ability in those environments is second to none. Almost looks like that video is in fast forward. Amazing to watch.

I've talked to a guy with a VW Golf MK2 there.
He had an interesting carb setup on his engine.
He chucked a set of Mikuni carbs from a Yamaha bike on it.
Looked pretty cool.
Anyhow a conversion to PMO carbs on my old girl is on the list.
But only if an engine rebuild is needed or the engine comes out for some major work.
Just the standard setup, PMO Carbs, cams and backdated exhaust.
My favorite car at Caffeine & Classics was a 288GTO, quite rare, didn't think to see one in NZ.
All the dudes drooling over the little 2.9 liter V8 and the 2 turbos.
One of the quickest cars in those days.

good pic of the 2 silver 911s. Can't help but like that 288 as well, not too many stone ships on the front of that car.
Gave the Fraser a good wash down after the NITT on Saturday and the paint work is well and truly christened with quite a few chips from track spray but never mind great fun...

Graeme - love the helmet design. BTW, did you put a bigger tank in the Fraser for the e85? The 25-30% range reduction might only be an issue for enduros I presume.
a 288 GTO? wow, now that's very gracious of the owner to bring a million euro car (http://www.rmauctions.com/lots/lot.cfm?lot_id=1059609) to be pawed over by the great unwashed
I owned a red '74 2002 Tii with the much desired 5 speed dog leg box when I lived in Sydney. I really wish id kept that car...

Can't believe I didn't see the 288. Obviously spent too much time talking to people and not looking at their cars!
Isn't a good idea to reflect on the car you should have bought/sold. Was chatting to someone this weekend about that shed full of cars that was for sale earlier in the year. Remembered Maccas comments on the 308 Dino being the unwanted second child after the 246. Looked at Hagerty and it seems that the ugly duckling is on the verge of becoming a bubble...

No E85 in the Fraser Walter - just plain old 98 pump. I want to be able to drive it around a bit in the weekends over summer - maybe also the odd drive to work if I have no appts and can wear jeans. sunnies and a beanie hat is ok for around town, no helmet needed. scare walkers, set off alarms and get school kids laughing and waving/pointing - its a real hoot
With E85 its best to pump out the tank if its not being used. So too much hassle.
if I did do that though probably get another 30hp and need bigger tank as you say not to mention bigger injectors and higher pressure fuel pump. I'd be really dangerous on track with that package, but contrary to what Macca says I'm not really hard out (or was that hard assed?) just a softy.
The targa car though does run on E85 and after each event we pump the tank out.
Sent a long email to the helmet designer over the weekend and chatted today as well - hopefully on the final straight now.

I rang Terry Riding. He can do Comp licences on 19/10. Who wants to get one?
