Mishaps, I still don't get it.

Absolutely. But, IMO, this has nothing to do with the level of racing. The stakes may differ in absolute $ terms for different levels of racing but they are always high/meaningful to the parties involved. And that's just talking treasure -- it's a given that the blood (injury) stakes are the same regardless of the level of racing.

I get more of a rush going door handle to door handle for 3 turns than chopping down on a guy because he has not he has not gotten what could be perceive as enough overlap. He caught me for a reason.

The general sentiment here is spot-on and will lead to excellent racing. The concept of supreme corner "ownership" is the problem, and if effectively addressed, it will eliminate these conversations.
However, "effectively addressed" is much easier said than done. Race officials need to have concise and unambiguous rules in order to make 13 judgments. The rules as enforced now (generally) meet this criteria, but they also assign fault to the wrong driver in too many cases. I wish I had the answer, but I feel that eliminating or at least redefining the concept of corner ownership is the place to start.

If there is over lap, you leave racing room. This is club racing, not racing earning a living. Who wins when the lead car turns in to the apex and hits the car with less than 100% overlap? Only the cars behind the incident that move up a few spots (assuming the incident does not end up involving them as well).

Yep. Mike's explanation is handed out at nearly every school or rookie orientation that I've been a part of. Great stuff!

I think you hit the nail on the head in another thread. The rules say if you dont have 100% overlap you are at fault in an accident. But on the other hand you must leave racing room if you are the lead car. This leave a lot of room for interpretation. I would like to see the LEAVE RACING ROOM take precedence.

When there is any doubt, there is no doubt.
