Compared to what? I doubt most of us can feel significant differences between any of the better shocks. I was the test dummy for the JRZ's and thought the revalved PSS10's were just as good only lacking rebound adjustability. I sold the JRZ's when I lightened the car and was given a great deal on a used set of Clubsports. I made so many changes simultaneouly that I'll never know whether the shocks contributed significanly. I do like their simple 7 step adjustments. Again I really liked the revalved (important) PSS10's a lot.....

Smartest statement I've read on RL in quite awhile....

It's a solid package, fast, safe and fun. Depending on where you are racing the 3.6L can run in PCA; I, GTB1, SP996 and GT3 R/S.
Is the 3.6 996 competitive in GTB1? The number of Caymans registered for Sebring in B1 is staggering.

not sure, when I ran GTB1 the 996's agreed to run SP996 rules so we did not use Hoosiers. It looks like there are 2 3.6l signed up in B1, so you'll be able to check times. I have no idea if they have any track time at Sebring. Those B1 Caymans are fast.

The GTB1 class record at Sebring is held by a 3.6L 996 (Karl Poeltl). Not sure what the other drivers were driving, other than Ed Oblow at RRR (also a 3.6L 996). But at least four class records for GTB1 are held by a 3.6L 996. On edit, Ernie Jakubowski has a Cayman I believe, so at least two class records are Caymans.

So is anyone selling these cars, be it Spec996 or better prepared GT class 996? My racing organization is becoming "unfriendly" to the old air-cooled cars (at least for guys that don't want to rebuild our engines ever year) and a 996 seems like the next logical step.

Yea, yea, yea. You're starting to sound like your Father....

BTW I may be selling mine. I ran a 997 x-koni car last Dec. and if I can get it to run right I'll sell my 996 with a fresh 3.4, etc. Kind of ironic to think of you beating up on your pops in that car.....

Oh, shut it old man (which is the same thing i've been saying to my father)! GT is the great equalizer; ive been telling my dad for two years that he needs to get in to a water-pumper for aero and engine mapping. I was actually talking about the letter and V classes earlier, but that's a discussion for another time.

I imagine once your car hits the market it will generate a well earned feeding frenzy. I "think" i'm looking for something a little piggier that i can run in GT4 for a few years as I develop it and myself.

BTW, if I tried to pass my old man in YOUR car he would punt me into the infield and smile all the way to his 13/13 hearing

I just converted my I car to a GTB1 car. Huge fields at the big races and decent fields at the smaller races. Haven't seen very many Spec 996's on the east coast nor in Fla where the OP is from I believe. If you go with lower end slicks like Hoosiers or Yokes ( compared to Michelins ) they are only marginally more expensive than R6's. I added a cup wing, light weight battery, lexan, and took out passenger seat and saved about 80lbs. but can lose another 80.
2 years on my M96 motor with no mods besides a X51 baffle and so far so good. Stay away from LWFW with these motors. Or so I am told. Look forward to running against the Cayman Masses at Sebring.

where do you source the Lexan windows? I'm assuming rear side and back only, or is the windshield Lexan too?

http://racingshields.com/default.html Good reviews after doing searches here on Rennlist. I have just done the windshield so far but rear is next.
