Ron Dennis: "Eventhough we have a tradition of treating our drivers equally dating back to the days of Senna/Prost, Fernando had a difficult time coming to grips with his young, rookie teammate. We wish Fernando all the best in whatever future endeavors he may participate. The rumors that the Woking McLaren office is in need of a car detailer are completely false. No further comments at this time".

Default Alonso, No one year deal as yet, will go to Ferrari in 09

Marca .com

Fernando Alonso effort for a year contract with any team falling on deaf ears. The firm Garrigues-Walker, who is leading the negotiations for Alonso has talked to all teams on the grid with an interest and concern and none is ready to write a contract for one year.

. No team wants in the year that removes the critical traction control, Alonso evolves one year in their car and then go to Ferrari in 2009, leaving in the lurch a car that would be to the taste of the Spainard. Therefore, all options are on the market , as most want at least two years with an option for a third.

Red Bull is the best placed team at the moment as Honda was The last team to leave the arena.s. The Japanese team pulled out of communiqué to dispel the talks with the representatives of Alonso, but the truth is that the firm that manages the affairs has been talking to the Japanese team the last 2 weeks.

At this point of the film is Red Bull, is closer to the recruitment of Alonso and that takes more time to negotiate, even though, like the rest of the pretenders, its offer is a minimum of two seasons. This is the team with the best arguments being put on the table and more convinced that, although never to be ruled out Renault, is now hampered by the trial on 6 December for alleged espionage, they might still be in the frame .

The quote that "he wants to race" is a made up story by Wayne. There is no such quote anywhere. Schumacher raced in Massa's cart race and will race in the Race of Champions in London representing Germany. Other than that, he isn't racing.

Pete, your disinformation is now off the charts. do the research before commenting , anything stated can be backed up . i have yet to see one objective report or statement from you, all conjecture and ridiculous at that , most recently Alonso should go to honda for rebuilding , to prove himself, the guy already did that with Renault and won 2 WDC , so get real.
A typical petey moment , Schumacher should prove himself and go to Honda ,make them a WC , that would be something ....

Ya'll really confuse those that do not have the inside scoop. I follow F1, watch Speed get the F1 mag and all that and never heard that Shumi was fired nor that he wants to race F1 again. I use to read this section of rennlist to get a lot of f1 news but it seems to be possible false info lately.

nothing false here and if you have been following along as you claimed , you would have seen, we had reported how and why schumacher was released last year to make way for Kimi .....

Pete does have away with his dis-information, passing it off as valuable source it is all conjecture on his part. He will deny facts with opinion .
news is reported as we get it ..... for discourse .....it is likely all the above recently is true , Alonso has been talking to all teams , he wants a 1 yr deal, all ave's point to Ferrari in 09 , of the 2 teams Honda or RED Bull, i would favor red bull , I believe in newey more than RB and honda has a lot of soul searching to get done before they can be
effective .....

So if Alonso goes to Red Bull for 2 years, how does he end up driving for Ferrari in 2009?
Sorry, math apparently isn't my strong point here.

Hey, wait a minute, here's an idea.....

Alonso can drive the Safety Car next season. That would give him an excellent opportunity to keep his skills sharp....and maybe even brake check Hamilton a time or two.

Again Alonso is shopping for a one year deal , it is apparent he has a deal with Ferrari for 09, if not he would have signed already. A factory team will not go for a 1 yr deal, they would require more. Red Bull is his best option, they are not in F1 just for the racing , but more for the star power, similar to Benetton , they will give Alonso a 1 yr deal to get the star attraction he brings as a 2 WDC , the exposure to red bull products would be immense .

Alonso might come to Ferrari for 09. It's a well known fact (at least here in Finland) that Kimi plans not to hang around with F1 very long time. Most likely he is going to take an early retairement package before he turns 30. After that he will concentrate to more interesting stuff than F1's

Yes olli,
Kimi had said as much at the Ferrari end of year party, he stated that he plans to retire from F1 and was not thinking of renewing his contract with Ferrari....
I think he wants to start making his own Vodka, Hmmmm Kimlandia

OK, so in fact a deal with Ferrari is "in the bag" for 2009....

A. Who would actually want to hire this prima donna for one year? Yes, I know, he'll give it 100% effort for the full season. I realize that professional driving has become a bit of an 'arrive and drive'....if you arrive with the $$$, you can drive.

B. Why not just take a year off, go drive/workout/sleep/travel/herd sheep/develop the new Ferrari at the factory?

C. Does anyone really care about Alonso anymore? I mean, the sport actually did survive without a 7x WDC on the grid this year, does F1 2008 really need this drama queen on the grid?

That's the million $ question.

He can't afford to do this IMHO. It would give everyone else a 1 year head start in the Non-TC cars

Drama creates interest and sells tickets. This thread is a 65 page testament to the power of Alonso's drama.
