That would be interesting!
Stroll Sr. is first and foremost a businessman. He gave Jr. his shot, and it lasted a lot longer than normal.
I don't think A-M would have a problem relieving him of his driving duties.
There's bound to be a nice fat position for him in the marketing department.
Or maybe the warehouse...

Lance might be extremely effective on the pit wall. He would be in a unique position of both having money in the team coupled with extensive driver knowledge at the highest level. Don't know any other team/race managers that have both those.
But that's a hard pill to swallow. While easy to put him down, he has flashes of brilliance. 3 podiums and a pole in F1 is not easy.

Despite looking and sometimes acting like a Bond villain, I think Lawrence loves his son, and where most people buy their kid a cart to go racing, he has enough money to buy an F1 team.
That being said, Lawrence Stroll "only" owns about 25% of Aston Martin. The remainder is owned by a consortium of people, companies and funds, including Mercedes and Toto Wolf.
If I was an investor supporting a shareholder's son's hobby I might be a little upset.

Here’s the thing IMO about AM
Why is Lance still there? Because he’s family. Think of all the rich guys out there racing that have no shot of winning anything but do it for the love of the sport. Maybe for Lawrence it’s a way to in some way have a “family business” with his son that maybe he ignored or treated poorly (a la Jos V) and it’s his way of giving back to his son.
Maybe without Lance it’s “just a business” and he’s not interested?
Maybe at this point he knows he doesn’t have a contender, and might as well keep Loance in there for now until they can build a legit car/team that can fight for constant podiums.
And maybe, just maybe, it’s only us outsiders that have issues and feel he “must do this or that” or declare “it doesn’t make sense”, or…. It’s not our money so who are we to say how he spends it?
And it’s raining…again/still here at Road Atlanta…. <sigh>

I really hope Aston has a real #2 driver , Lance is the Canadian Mazespin and he has the attitude of a spoiled brat …
Cheers

Not to worry about senior neglecting junior … daddy built him a world class go kart track 30 minutes from his Mont Tremblant mansion so Lance could start his karting career when he was young. From what i heard from the Briggs rep , Lawence would buy all the Rotax 125 engines and keep the best ones then sell the rest to the Canadian competitors. It wasn’t rare that Lance would show up at the track in daddy’s helicopter.Lawence pulled that stunt a few times where he would show up at Le Circuit in his helicopter during a PCA DE where some groups would lose their 30 minute run time while daddy drove one of his Ferraris around , i guess when you own the track you can do what you want !

Lance obviously has tremendous skill because he can drive an F1 car, score points, and he's had a pole a couple of podiums. That said, I don't think he has the skill to be great in an F1 car since there are few that do. Sort of like Marcus Ericsson. He didn't do much in F1, but has won in Indycars, including of course an Indy 500 win. I think Lance could have similar success in Indy cars.

As much fun as it is to harsh on the lesser stars of F1... Even Logan Sargeant and poor Lance have extraordinary talent.
You won't be on the grid without it, no matter how much money daddy brings.

Aramco is the major sponsor and contributor to Aston Martin , i imagine that they will tell Lawrence at one point that enough is enough after eight years in F1 , that as much as he loves his son he just doesn’t belong there anymore.
Stroll spent six million dollars so his son can race with Prema in F3 as they were the top team at the time , as far as i know junior never won any sort of championship ?
I’m certain Drugovich can do better than Lance given the opportunity !
Just sayin …
Cheers

According to Corriere dello Sport, Carlos Sainz has reportedly signed a contract with Mercedes for the 2025 season.
However, FUnoAT also reports that Mercedes has offered Sainz a 1+1 year deal, suggesting a single-year contract with an option for a second year.

What am I missing, you F1 stalwarts? Is it a team option or driver option (if there is such a thing as the latter in F1)?
