Well, now I can look forward to qualifying in an hour as my lady Hawkeyes didn't let me down!!! ( a couple of years ago you would have convinced me I'd be watching women's college basketball...)

The only surprise for me, which was a good surprise, is that Ricciardo qualified within a few tenths of Yuki. He started back on F1 with the goal of getting the Red Bull seat but now I don't think he can hang onto the AT seat.
I think it is too late for him but maybe if he starts to beat Yuki he has a chance.

Yes, it is not looking good for Ricciardo. I expected him to bounce back much more quickly and be dominant over Yuki by now.

I'll be sad to see him go, but not surprised.
He needed to absolutely dominate Tsu, right out of the gate to have a shot.
"New chassis for China" means he has at least 2 more races... He might perform a miracle yet.

I fear the Honey Badger has lost his F1 MoJo. I hate it ‘cos he’s a damn fine person it seems, and he not that long ago had phenomenal skills; (last of the late brakers?).
With the RedBull franchise in turmoil and beset with in-fighting, I can not see him getting close to the second seat at RB and/or keeping his seat at AT. With Sainz on the market next year and awesome youngsters needing a chance to show their potential, and for much less money no doubt, there’s no where for him to go to grab a competitive ride.

Afraid that is true, especially watching Lawson standing there in the pits being wasted...

Sergio Perez looks to be driving strong and doing what he has to do. Ricciardo is out at lap one - I give it a few more races before they pull the plug.
Yuki is stepping it up but I don't think the RB seat it up for grabs anymore.
Ferrari should have kept its current line up, and if one driver had to go, they chose the wrong one.
Mercedes are nowhere.

If Sainz keeps this up he will be able to command basically anything he wants on his terms. Crazy Ferrari let him go and he is doing what is needed to show them they made a bad decision and EVERY other team should be courting him and inviting him over for dinner. At first I thought the Perez seat would be good for him but I don't think so. He really needs to be and SHOULD be the #1 driver on a team the way he is driving and he does not need to be VER's b$tch.

Sainz is on a tear. Ferrari must be regretting their decisions!
My driver of the day: Alonso.
Constantly punching above his weight.
He drags the car up beyond where it belongs, but Stroll can't bring it up to where it should be.
Other than the 1-2, it was an interesting race.
Bummer about Ricciardo. I miss him already.
