Not a big fan of Toto's but I hope he stays at MB for a while yet as I love his back and forth with Christian... and I hope Vowles stays at Williams to help bring it back to some semblance of its former self in Sir Frank's absence.

I agree, The "best" FIA presidents IMHO have been former F1 principals or drivers because they understand what F1 is from the inside. MBS doesn't have clue, he is clearly over his head.

True story, MBS drove an F1 car once, he crash almost immediately. Kind of foretelling.

I don't know what year that was or who sanctioned this drag race, but in his defense, the Renault had old used Bridgestone tires (when did Renault last use Bridgestones 2004? so this was a V10? - a beast of a car) and although tire blankets were seen in the garage, there were none on the car prior to the start of the drag race and the tires would be very sub optimal in terms of operating temps.

Here are the changes to the 2024 sporting rules:

- Teams can use fewer PU components without penalties.

- Teams are limited to using 3 combustion engines instead of 4.

- The allowance for MGU-H, MGU-K, and turbochargers is reduced from 4 to 3.

- Pre-season testing time is cut by 30 minutes per day.

- Teams cannot start work on the 2026 car until January 2, 2025, focusing only on the braking system for now.

- Private test distances increase to 200 kilometers from 100 kilometers.

- The FIA will inspect specific cars after races, not just three as previously done.

- The pit lane opens 10 minutes later, reducing its opening time from 50 to 40 minutes before each race.

With the billions of dollars floating around in F1, there's no excuse for not doing a basic inspection of all the points finishing cars.
It would only take a few inspectors to cover the basics, and just a few minutes post-race....

Totally agree and this one rule change I think will cause the most issues because it seems VERY random, generic and opened ended. They need to call out exactly what cars will be tested.

I do wonder if the ‘back and forth’ between Horner and Wolfe isn’t played to the hilt by DTS and all other media, tbh. It sure generates a lot of attention.

I’m not saying they’re best friends, just that so much of the agro seems way overwrought when reported.
