Possibly. The Qatari GP was extremely hot and humid (if you recall, several drivers collapsed after the race, threw up or stopped). Max only won that race by 4-5 second.

You’re right. I felt that at least one other race had to have been mega humid; just couldn’t remember for sure.

If anyone can figure it out it will be Newey.

No. I think I remember that they got the ride height wrong. Went too conservative for the bumps and lost too much downforce.

Anyone see Kubica’s description of driving a Formula E?
”Its like having sex with a rubber doll.”

I followed the first couple of seasons of Formula E just see how the cars advanced. The potential with an all electric drivetrain is huge. Those cars could be monsters. But instead of making them faster and more powerful the governing body went the other way and prioritized efficiency and rinky-dink circuits. That approach ruined the series. The cars are limp noodles. Watching a Go Kart race is more entertaining.

I may be biased as my sons and I used to race shifter karts. I can GUARANTEE a shifterkart race, with standing starts like F1, are much more interesting than Formula E, and even the go-kart tracks are more interesting!! I tried to watch the races over the last few years, and can't even make it one lap...

Hopefully I"ll be long gone by the time F1 goes electric...

Thought you guys would enjoy this and wanted to share a short article as it gives some insight from a long time F1 engineer, Pat Fry.

I knew that Senna wasn’t in the greatest of fitness and despite his incredible career results, Michael always had a touch of self doubt. Jean Todt has recounted how Schumacher would call him in the off season and ask to get in the new Ferrari they were developing to see if he “still had what it took to drive in F1.” And Alonso, his issues within each team are well documented.

Will be interesting to see how RIC and Yuki do with next year’s car.

Haven’t they canned Perez yet? Maybe they’re waiting to see if he has a lousy start first.

My prediction is that Perez starts the season: if he falters in the first 4-6 races, RIC takes his place and Liam Lawson slots into the Alpha Tauri seat.
