Word to the wise. Once you get it working which will require to turn up the volume on the PCM don't forget to turn the volume down prior to shutting the car off. Otherwise the next time you turn it on the volume level for whatever media you're playing will cause you to cover your ears.

So here's the cable Wine Country is selling to connect the Catalyst to a Stilo:

I'll give it a shot at Thunderhill on Saturday.

Yes, this is built by RaceCom in Mooresville, NC and sold by HMS, NaroEscape, myself and many others.

While Bob has related that he hasn't had an issue with low audio output to the Stilo and the Roux, some of my users have.

This is why I recommend the audio booster of the small MPOW Bluetooth receiver and others. To be sure...

This cable worked quite well for me yesterday, and it was really nice to be able to finally utilize the in-helmet speakers. My only small gripe is that the cord would occasionally get caught between my side and the seatback. (I mount my Catalyst to the right of the rearview mirror.) Maybe the MPOW would avoid that…

I can confirm that the SanDisk 256GB microSD card for the Nintendo Switch does NOT work reliably in the Catalyst. I'll be trying the SanDisk Extreme Pro 128GB card (SDSQXPJ-128G-ANCM3) next.

Additional, non-standard mSD cards and power capacity issues are the two biggest troubles users have with these units.

Why not use the stock, supplied card?

Glad to hear that as I'll be trying out a Catalyst for the first time this Friday at Sonoma raceway. The cable looks like it could be a touch longer since my comm jack is on the left side of my helmet. I'll be attaching my Garmin above the center stack. I experimented with an extender cable but it severely degraded the signal.

I've sold a number of 3.5mm M-3.5mm F stereo extensions for this and they work fine.

Just bought a Catalyst and would like to move it from car to car -- what would I need to buy to make this as easy as possible?

A second camera? Anything else?

I was scanning through the thread and saw a Stilo to Catalyst cable --
Is there a Roux to Catalyst adapter?

Only thing you need to move it fast from car to car, assuming the cars all have good cig lighter power ports, is a suction cup mount for the camera. I don’t see a lot of second camera installs, although I have sold a few “second car kits” as I do for AiM and VBOX.

Yes, I stock connection cords for the Roux as well as the Stilo, along with a super simple Bluetooth receiver that stays with the helmet. Totally cordless, pretty cool.

Others have that RaceCom cable, too.

Good point—I should have added that my comm port is on the right side of my helmet, which I guess is backwards from what most folks have.

Many people buy a helmet with comms because they are instructing, and if you need comms to talk to the driver then having the jack on the left side makes the most sense. I've only had one student with a helmet with built-in comms.

I have another extension cable coming from Amazon today. Hopefully the one I tried before was a fluke.

edit: The new cable works just fine. The first one must have been defective.

Having a great time(a little wet) at NCM with the Catalyst. Just ran a new personal best.

2:26.72

My 3 opportunities are .85 .69, .48.
For a total of 2.02

Why is my optimal lap only .1 faster
