I thought Ford's new MY (Model Year) starts on August 1st. But maybe every model might be different.

Ford's model year start is different for every model. Job 1 for the 17 mustang is schedule to start 6/2 or there about. The order banks for orders is supposed to open around 4/4.

I got a text from my Ford dealer (owner) saying that he will give me his 2017 gt350 allocation. I had a 2016 but after the release of both tech and track package available for 2017 I've decided to wait.

Thanks for the info in build dates. Hope to get an early one.

He has another allocation?
No contacts at Ford dealer and I rather go to the DMV than to a car dealer.

Default go from 981CS to Gt350?

[QUOTE=Jooyoung99;13038533]My car arrived a day early!! Car came very dusty. Got it washed right away.

First impressions:
1. Car feels very big compared to GT4. The hood looks very long.
2. Very sluggish and unresponsive below 4,000 rpm.

You may be able to best help me with my gt350 dilemma!

So I am going on 3 years with a 981CS (a 2014 for 2 years and a 2016 for almost a year) and with my carswitchitis disease this means I want to make a move.

I've changed a bit in those 3 years as well. I find I don't like driving as hard anymore, more chill than thrill perhaps. So I guess I am looking for more of a GT than a sports car.

The Gt350 has been on my radar for a while. I have been researching it like mad. But I think this thread takes the cake for real world info, and I have to admit I do place the opinions of Porsche people at a high level, especially 981 drivers

I am contemplating ordering a 2017 GT350 (non R). I would love to drive one to get a sense of whether it is for me, but that's not going to happen. hence the crazy research. and I am a bit wary of ordering a car without some good driving time in one. I ordered a c7 with only limited seat time and the C7 did not work out for me.

I like low end torque and smaller cars and I can not lie...so wondering now that you have had the car a little longer, how the gt350's size and lack of low end torque are working out for you? Also if you had pick just one as your only pleasure road car, gt4 or gt350 and why?

I'll ask.
Will be back in the US on Sunday. Enjoying the Swizz mountains with my family this week. Spring skiing is the best.

Are you doing Chin first weekend of Feb at Sebring?

In my opinion GT4 is a whole another class compared to a GT350 (maybe GT350R might be different). I only got the GT350 as a temporary toy because I recently sold my GT3 and waiting for my Huracan 580-2. For the money, it's a great car. But would I buy it if it was $100K? Hell no. Would I buy a GT4 for $110K? Heck Yes!. Also, if you owned a GT3, GT3 feels like it has 575 hp compared to 525 hp in the GT350.

Still, the best car Ford has produced next to Ford GT. If you like low end torque around town, why not get a Z06?

No surprise a 991 GT3 feels faster....it's because it most defintely is. And it also is much lighter but an additional $110,000 to deduct from the bank account.

I've yet to drive a GT4 but so far you are the first to say the GT4 feels to be in a different class. One member here with a collection of GT3 cup cars, the Shelby and a GT4 said the Shelby was superior and ended up selling the GT4. MotorTrend also rated the GT350R over the GT4/Viper/Ferrari 488 in the 2016 Performance car of the year. I think the GT4 is a really cool car but I would never pay 100,000 for a Cayman no matter how much hp they stuffed in there.
