I had a gt350 w/ track pack that I just sold.
As a street car, it was entertaining, but not in the same league as my gt4 (or gt3). The car feels big, and the inside still feels like a mustang, not in a good way.

And yes, it sounded great.

Wow I find the Recaros and alcantara steering wheel to be top notch. Definitely feels bigger than a 911 - so does everything else.

Did you get it on a racetrack?

I thought the recaros were good. The steering wheel I thought was a bit spongy. Odd.
I'm basing my thoughts on street/daily driving.
It just didn't do it for me. But I can see how it would entertain on a track.
I really wanted to like it. I actually ordered a base car and sold it. Ordered a track pack car, drove it and ended up selling it after 1k miles.

@Trakcar, yes. First weekend of April. I signed up for Saturday.
To much beer. Have gotten used to the light beer Im the US. This stuff is something else, especially at 10000 feet.

I'll give the mustang a try as a DD driver in Florida. Big is better in our traffic. Not sure it's the best decision. But hey, they will always make f150s. Can always go back.

very interesting, experiences like yours make me very wary of doing the switch to a gt350 without some actual seat time driving it.

That beer always kicks me in the *** the first couple days, but then I adapt.
When the 350R arrives and I don't have one yet, we swap cars.

And I think the refinement of a 350R is no better than a C7, but I don't fit in a C7 and I should fit in a Mustang.

You have to buy it with different expectations.
Ill get it with ventilated sofa's and expect a comfy roomy cheap daily driver that makes greet vroom vroom noises. Crap maybe I just get a C Coupe 63 S... Problem with the sedan is that it doesn't come with ventilated seats.
Good European Delivery car me thinks.

As a track car. The gt350 would be a no-brainer. If you pulled double duty with it and drove on the street, it would be just fine.

But jumping out of the 350 and into the gt4 was a big difference, for me. And made me appreciate the total package of the pcar.

The powertrain/suspension of the mustang is dialed in, no doubt. Its the rest of the car that's lacking to me.

I recently got a 2016 Z06 with 2LZ trim (Got $10K off sticker + $2500 Chevy Volt Loyalty cash). I think it has a much nicer interior, sound system, PDR / Nav than GT350. It also has Apple Car Play which I really like. But I'm getting rid of it soon. Seats still sucks. Traction is horrible. Don't really enjoy driving it.

You just can't match quality and feel of GT3 / GT4 with American cars. Especially with GT4, everything feels perfect. Perfect driving position, perfect visibility, not too big, around 3,000 lbs!, low center of gravity. GT350 can't match any of that.

This weekend, I'm trying to go to Button Willow with both GT4 and GT350. Right now, I'm on the waiting list. Forgot to sign up early. I don't think GT350 will be able to keep up, but we'll see.

Did you track both cars, or is your feedback based on street driving? I want to try out a GT350, but I am worried about the weight, and feel of the car.

I think if you guys are looking to replace Porsches with Shelby's it's not going to make you happy - just the same as there isn't really a Porsche that can replace the Shelby experience. I personally switch back and forth between a 997S and the GT350 and I find the different driving dynamics compliment each other perfectly.

Lumber - how long do you normally keep your cars? One other person who sold their GT350 after a short period was a car dealer who had bought and sold a dozen sports cars over the last year.

Not very long, 12 months tops. If I like the car I'll keep it til something else comes along.

I don't track my cars. This is coming from a purely street perspective. Granted I drive 100 miles on the best back roads every day...
