That's rather mind-blowing... always had the impression the new car was lighter, more nimble.

Base 2017 gt350 4400 lbs google it. 2014 gt500 track pack 3849 lbs I'm accurate you are in wrong. Why would you lie about it?
I find four different weights for all that we discuss. Before this I looked at my build sheet...corect. The 350R has no weight savings except those overpriced wheels! Good buy

I have the actual numbers at home but my 2016 GT350 Track Pack is 3,796 lbs. those other numbers are way off the mark. A GT350R is about 100 lbs lighter, mainly because of the CF wheels and tires.

I have always said - Lose the tech but keep the A/C. Has anyone considered the M4 GTS? Or driven one that can comment? It seems somewhat comparable to the 350R.

C&D long term test car initial data for 2017 GT350: 3806 lbs., which includes a full tank of fuel.

The GT350 is a nice car but I was never a fan. Never liked the sound of the FPC. Sounds like Chubaka gargling. Best description I heard. Really lost interest when Ford Motorsport dropped the FPC for WEC/Continnental Challenge due to durability and longevity issues. They buried the GT350RC out back and Ford went back to the Boss 302 driveline for the Mustang GT4 punched to a 5.2 aluminator.
Ford made a bazzillon GT350s. Values dropping. Even the Rs.
Best buy right now? Boss 302LS with low mileage. Still bringing close to MSRP six years later and will likely be more sought after than a GT350 in 10 years that's for sure IMHO. Better bet and affordable. MHO

I had a LS and took a long time to sell that car and it was in pristine condition with less that 3K on it. B302's only have 440 hp, the new GT has more hp and IRS. Both the GT and the GT350 are vastly better cars than a B302 and the GT350 is a leaps and bounds better performing car than a B302.

GT350s better performing.?Of course. Leaps and bounds? Nope. Main delta are the tires. Boss is a great track car. Epic for it’s time. Neither are “race” cars stock. Boss 302s made for great race cars winning championships and the 302 was a great race engine. Point in fact the Boss drive train replaced the fpc in the current Mustang GT4. GT350RC while fast did not make for a great race car and the 5.2 fpc not a good race engine. Ask Ford. It’s a good de track car. Yes.
Only 1500 LSs ever made. Best of the S197 with real Boss heritage and parallel history. GT350 has 0 Shelby dna or connection except licensing rights.
I like the GT350 but the Boss LS is what collectors will be looking for. Boss LS stock rising. Time to buy. GT350 stock dropping. R the exception in future, maybe.

From the owners who have weighed their cars, almost all '16 Base & Track Pack GT350's have been in the 37XX lbs range, full tank or less. The R's have been mid to upper 36XX lbs, but some right around 3700 lbs even. The '17s/'18s are all Track Packs now, but those with full electronics and leather seats are probably a little heavier, like C&D's car.
