I think the dual clutch is just a rumor, but it if does get one that would definitely be interesting.

Pilot Cup 2 tires on this car on night and day - way beyond my capability on the track - had a lot more left in it but I didn't have the guts! Too fast! Was cool to keep up with a Z07 for a few laps (fairly green driver maybe).

yes, there were rumors of the DCT... I wish I knew whether it would get one as I'd prefer the DCT over the manual (blasphemy I know!)

Tired of the BS related to Ford dealers and the markups on the R's...

Sincerely, can I get some recommendations from you guys for the best forum on the internet for the 'Dodge, Mopar, SRT' side of the isle? Essentially the 'Rennlist' of the Dodge (Hellcat) crowd...

I'm late to the party and have been eyeing the gt350 for a while and finally picked one up yesterday. I'm very very impressed. Had driven mustangs in the past(over 10 years ago) and other american sports cars and wasn't too impressed, but I really like the gt350. I wanted a manual to keep me occupied until I get a gt3 manual and I think it'll definitely do the job. Bang for buck, I don't think it can be beat. After spending so much on exotics, I think this car is worth ever penny(picked up used one for 50k), plus I don't feel guilty or as worried about it when driving...

I'm with you.

For me the 911/GT350 pairing is the perfect car stable - I'm actually happy now Ford is going to keep building them - plenty to go around and at 57k with a warranty - you can drive the pants off it and not worry. So much fun.

lol - Hellcat.

Had one at the track last week - someone in the novice group told me he kept 18 cars in a train behind his boat of a Hellcat for the entire session - sounds about right.

I had a charger hellcat. Its an ok sedan for what it is, much happeier with the gt350. I've driven a challenger hellcat, not impressed. I would buy a jeep hellcat though.

A Hellcat is faster around Sebring than an M4

I don't doubt it, but I was amused by the Hellcat land yacht starting a train out there lol

Correct as of Friday of last week Feb. 10th.
My Ford dealer feels terrible about this and told me to not drive the car FWIW.
How tough is it to make a hose?

Last September I went looking for an R - well over MSRP - so looked at the GT350 - also at least $10k over sticker. Looked at R reviews vs Z/28 - looked to see where the Z/28's were at - up to $25K "off MSRP" - so I bought new one with 19 miles on it that was color I wanted, so I paid a little more.

Production of Gen5 2014-15 Z/28 Totals - 1,801 - start to finish

2014 - 440 production cars (436 sold to public and #1-4 retained by GM) + 69 CTF cars for employees to test, display and press fleet - CTF stands for captured test fleet.

2015 they built 1,287 production cars and 5 CTF cars.

To denote a 14 vs 15 in the VIN the 14's have a "E" before the final numbers and the 15's ave an "F" - CTF final VIN numbers start with "969" while production cars start with a "970" - so a 2014 production car would be E970 and a CTF would be E969 -

Z/28 is pretty stiff (not harsh, just firm) and not a daily driver for me - but a lot of car for the money for sure. The very limited production run should bode well for its future value, but in the meantime an awful lot of fun for $53K!

for those interested attached is a special bulletin to dealers on the Z - I also have a pdf on the concept of the Z from GM in 2013 - to large to post here - so if interested in a copy pm me your email address and I will email it to you.

We are living in the ultimate Car age with so many great offerings and the friendly competition between Mfg. is pushing the envelope for our benefit!

One could make a valid argument that a Ford Mustang thread contained within a dedicated Porsche GT thread within a dedicated Porsche forum is by definition "Off Topic" with the understanding that the GT350/R fits into the same class of track ready car as the GT3, etc. Most look over this with intelligent understanding and don't try to police others. Thank you to those that have that understanding.

There are those of us who have been around for the better part of two decades either in the background as a lurker or as a paying member of the forum; and they respect and find guidance from fellow forum members, and I don't think it is out of place to ask for their recommendation.

The only reason I mentioned the Hellcat is that, like the Mustang, it ticks some semblance of the 'American Muscle' box for me even though it is not in the same ilk of road coarse track weapon - unless we are referring to the drag strip.

Sorry for the rant and the off topic nature of my post.

PS. Nice ride Supercup, congratulations on the Z28.
