Thoughts on the new corvette?

Outside looks good inside sucks. They are going to sell a ton of them.

Three Wheelin'
The design is cartoonish, fussy, and not cohesive. I’m sure it will drive great though. Definitely will test drive.

I think the outside looks great, the inside not so much. But be ready to see two on every red light.

C8 Corvette - Your thoughts? Would you ever consider it?
Just curious to see what the opinions are on the new Corvette. Does it change your opinion about the car? Would you ever consider it?

Still a Chevy....

I like it! Not sure about the build quality (I used to have a Vette and it wasn't great), but the driving experience + value for the money CANNOT be beat. If I had the extra cash, I'd wait till the grand sport version comes out and scoop that one up.

Exactly. It's a good looking car, very aggressive. I prefer smoother design language myself; however, it's an American made muscle car at heart.
I just had a buddy order a 2020 911 Carrera S for 160K. The 0-60 times will be almost identical for potentially 100K less. That kind of performance at that price point will sell lots of cars. I will definitely take a look at this car and I'm currently in a 15 Cayman GTS.

“Threatened by it “ I think that is the dumbest statement anyone can say! I can just sell my Porsche and buy 3 of them...
i would love to save the money Dave!
the stingray comes in close to 3600 pounds how in the hell are they gonna get the z06 lower when they add forced induction?

And threatened meaning, trying to discount the feat that Chevrolet has pulled off, offering so much value in (possibly) a world class leading package.
I for one, will be waiting out the first year bugs, but if they get the cooling issues resolved this new C8 has the potential to sit atop the SuperCar world!. Something the front engined car and lack luster interiors never could.
I'm just saying you should be proud of what it (seems) they've accomplished, and most the other responses confirm, overall this car is very well received.
Best Regards,
Dave

Great value for the performance and major credit to GM for transitioning to mid-engine. That's a bold move and not without risk. Price and performance will no doubt attract buyers that weren't shopping Corvette before and even those that feel it isn't a real Corvette likely have very few other choices.
From the images, I don't like the exterior or interior. It's way too busy. I will say the material selection for the interior seems considerably better than the C7, but the styling just isn't for me. The exterior has too many sharp edges and pointless lines. Or, they seem pointless. Maybe it's all function. But it's a shape that I feel will not age well.
That said, the 3/4 above rear shot does look good.
