718 Boxster also a little under 3000lbs (base, MT), about 500lbs less.
Curb weight of a C7 is 3347 lbs. Curb weight of a 718S wit PDK is over 3K lbs, but 2988 lbs with a MT. So a MT C7 is 359 lbs heavier than a MT 718S, but a large part of that difference comes from the larger and more powerful V8 in the C7 which produces 460 HP and 460 lb/ft of torque. Weight per HP with MT for a 718S is 8.5 lbs per HP (8.7 lbs with PDK), whereas a C7 is 7.2 lbs per HP. The torque difference is especially massive: 309 vs 460. Moreover the torque in a C7 is available at low RPM: 375 lb/ft at 2K RPM and 430 lb/ft at 3K RPM.
The C7 Z06 is over 500 lbs heavier than a 718S, but the Z06 has twice the torque: 650 vs 309. I've driven my GT3 at Watkins Glen and have observed Z06s in action, and with Cup tires they are formidable. Didn't get a look at the plastics or leather in the Z06, but it sure was fast as hell.
Oh my... What's that thing in the middle? Storage for dead bodies? I thought the engine is in the back so no need for a transmission/axle tunnel in the cabin anymore? My Boxster that's half the size has twice the cabin room.

Yes, if you want to get technical I was referring to 2019 Z06, curb weight 3524 - 3582 lbs compared to 718 base Boxster manual trans, 2943 lbs DIN 70020 empty weight which includes 75kg passenger unlike curb weight so drops Boxster 165lbs to 2778lbs or 746 lb difference. Add back average Corvette driver weight to my 2xyear marathon weight and difference gets much larger LOL.
Of course lbs /HP or any other performance metric, no contest for Corvette. But I was originally referring to fun factor on narrow mountain roads open to public. It all depends on want you want out of a sports car.
