Agree. I've had my 911 for three years this week. Put on like 13,000 miles and 7 k of those the first year. Seems like settling into like 3k a year now. The new F150 Bought in early November just got oil change #2 today; 12,300 miles. Tend not to take the P car out unless I know I will get it up to temp and hit red line a time or two. The pickup is not so picky. However, looks like might have a couple of Lister buddies moving to the hill country so P car road trips.

Dead horse? It's ongoing.

There is some personal preference in play here though. For the record, I don't like small BMWs either, but I have enjoyed two 5series cars. I didn't like BMW interiors in the 80s either, but some models are pretty nice now. And the sports seats are real comfy for road trips.

So could GM make an interior I like in the future? Sure. Anything is possible. The pics that Bill put up looked nice, but there is still a touch and feel thing that is personal preference.

Moving the engine from the front to the rear isn't exactly a small change, so I can appreciate the resistance, especially since the car will undoubtedly look a lot different from prior generations.

Change is not easy for most people, and I was one of those who was upset when Ferrari & Lamborghini stopped making 3 pedal cars, but I have now come to understand that sometimes new technology (though I will never understand the tweeting thing, nor will I ever do it), can make driving better. I would not have wanted a manual in my 4C, but could not imagine an Evora 400 without one. I have two 718's (one gearshift one PDK) and two 911's my 997S gearshift, my winter 911 and 991C4S PDK, all of them (except the PDK 718S my girlfriend drives) modified.. I have not been told anything about the car other than there are new colors for it. I hope they do come out with a gearshift but I am not sure that they will. There is a certain feeling that you get from a V8 that you just cannot duplicate, I have a Maserati GranTurismo MC, and that engine is what makes that car, and I am hoping the C8 will have that same type of V8 magic. If not I will just keep making changes to it, till it does.

Default Corvette ME reveal tonight!

Will anyone here be watching the reveal out of Cali tonight at 11PM?
I would imagine there are a few "bi-polar" P-car/C-car appreciators out there (I am one of them).
I will stop back here tomorrow. There will no doubt be some rants and raves....so sharpen those spears and/or wring out the cryin' towels!

And as much as like the torque and acceleration of my 991.2 GTS (and what I normally drive to work), it isn't the best for smaller back road twisties.

I was on a great spirited drive through a mountain gap road (Smuggler's notch) and was having a great time in my Boxster, until I got behind a Corvette (C7, or C6?) . It was huge in width and looked like a fish (or whale) out of water on that narrow road with blind hairpin turns and rock ledge jutting to the edge of the road. Perfect for a Boxster or Cayman, though.
A C7 is 6.5" wider than a 718 Boxster, and about 5" longer.
