Thanks for answering the questions. I'm hearing good things. Not sure I got this one answered yet..... What do the cables help with...feel?

Also, are you able to adjust the throw length or what is adjustable?

The cables will help with the engagement and feel of the shifting. We get rid of all the rubber bushings that surround the cable ends. We also make ours in a thicker diameter for more durability. Our cables also spring back to center when moved opposed to the stock which stay in the same place, making them more prone to break.

As far as adjustability goes, our 986/987 996/997 Shifter has 3 adjustable throw settings. Stock/Short/Very Short. Which is on the lever that you can easily lower and raise it to your liking!

Thanks, makes sense. I ordered the shifter alone today from Soul Performance since I was ordering Bypass, filter and Tune already.

Can’t wait to get it in and feel the difference. Can always add cables later. Just wasn’t ready for that jump with all the other mods in the cart. This was already the splurge item, haha.

FINALLY pulled the trigger on this (991 Bundle). I've waited over a year lol. Bought too many parts/mods last year so wife said I had to chill for a bit 😂.

I went with the softer, 1.5mm spring. Should I have gone with the stiffer, 2.0mm spring? What should one expect from either spring? Sorry if these questions were already answered above.

Can't wait to get my order!

Bought the 991 shifter and cable set for my Carrera T yesterday. Went with the stiffer 2mm spring. I decided this had to be my first mod because I want to prioritize engagement and feel. I’ll add power later (but hopefully soon!).

Also interested to hear feedback from Numeric about what to expect from either spring. Which is more like the stock unit?

The 2mm Spring is more like the stock unit. Just a bit stiffer. The 1.5 is what used to come stock until they switch them over to the 2mm spring

wasn't aware that stock shifter had springs.
What year did they switch to 2mm?
