Any chance for a discount for someone who has your shifter but was dumb and didn’t buy cables at the time? And will the insulators help with your cables too? Or are they wrapped enough as is?

Code RENNLIST at checkout. And you can grab some insulation tubing if you want. Helps dampen the noise if you happen to get any

Just ordered the shifter. I have had the cables for a while mixed with my 997 short shifter. I want a shorter throw, lets see if this does the trick.

Question for numeric and any owners that have installed in 991.2. I have a Carrera T which already has a short throw shifter. How does this shifter length compare to the Porsche short throw?

Also most users are replacing on older cars. How much improvement should I expect on a 2019 991.2? What do the cables help with...feel?

The Length of the shifter itself will be the same, but the throws will be reduced by about 40%.

As far as old vs. new cars, they all use the same shifters. Porsche has not changed them in a very long time. It is all still in plastic housing. We just put a shifter in a 2020 992 Carrera and the shifter is still the exact same as the older model 991s, 981s, and 718s.

Got my package and have yet to install it. Had a question on the silicone insulation for the cables - do you cut a slit into the entire length and slide it on the entire length of the cable from the shifter, into the grommet, and to the tranny?

When we do our installs, we put the tubing from the bulkheads on the shifter side all the way to the grommet and then from the other side of the grommet to the bulkheads on the transmission side.

Installed my shifter today in my 996TT, removed my GT3 997 shifter. I already had the shifter cables, but I must say, the shift experience is EXACTLY what I was looking for. It is very direct, extremely short, and precise. I came from an Audi with a shift rod attached to a JHM shifter and was completely thrown the first time I drove a Porsche. This is the same direct and stiff shift experience I am used to and like. I wish I didn’t wait so long!
