Absolutely not. They will do an alignment so make sure if you have a track alignment to give them the specifications.

They didn’t even do an alignment for me. They charged me for a full alignment.

Well I brought in my car for an alignment. They told me about the recall. I asked if that included alignment. They said it was a very minimal job, just the rear alignment. I asked if I could get a discount on my alignment since they have to align the rear anyway. They said no and still charged me the full alignment amount.

That's total BS from your dealer.
I know for a fact that a full alignment (front and back) was done on my car when my transmission was replaced and as Carl stated above, there was no charge.
The factory service manual states that alignments are performed whenever the trapezoidal pan is removed.

Yup.
The service copy is not suppose to leave the hands of your dealer.
If it does, its a fireable offense.

Its things like this that make me wonder why Fremont gets such high praise. I think you get your service done there too. For some reason I always get the short end of the stick there.

Yes, I've heard good things about Fremont.
But I'm too lazy to drive all the way down there... so I stay more local.

I noticed that my recall transmission shifted quite well. I just had my car aligned back to my custom specs and the alignment shop said it was the best shifting Porsche they ever serviced, so that's a vote of confidence for the replacements!

I have an appointment with Midwestern Auto Group (MAG) in Dublin, Ohio at the end of September for the transmission replacement.
Any experience with this service (or any) from members?
My options would be MAG or Byers Imports on the other side of Columbus...

Default Recall transmission for me

My car is in for an oil change, but I was informed that the transmission is being replaced under warranty too.

My GT4 had its transmission replaced recently. The service rep said all GT4s built after the Nov 2015 timeline will have their transmissions replaced anytime they come in for service when it hasn't yet been done. It's part of a campaign that all dealers must "clear". So far I have had no issues with the new transmission. Its shifts like a dream.
