I spoke to one of my SA's who was a master mechanic at one point in his Porsche career, and he said that it is certainly a possibility if one waits.
Otherwise, I'd probably be using similar thinking and waiting..... and having a new clutch thrown on too at a later date.

Dropped it off on Wednesday and had it back on Friday. I was given a Panamera 4S loaner and was almost tempted to leave my car at the dealer over the weekend so I could putt around with it for a bit longer. Not too shabby! (Though, I was surprised at the seemingly significant amount of lag in throttle response - even in sport mode - and the amount of hunting around PDK tended to do. I definitely had higher expectations. It only had 6k on the odo, but as a loaner, maybe it already needed some sort of reset.)

Back to my car, with 24k on the odo, I asked them to inspect the clutch while they were in there, and they said it was wearing fine and didn't require replacement any time soon. Everything feels just as it did before. Changing gears feels a bit more "solid" - not requiring any more force or anything like that - just feels a bit more confident and precise (particularly noticeable going into first gear which seems to be a smoother experience, like it is more willing to accept the gear at low speeds - if that makes sense). No difference in clutch pedal feel. Also, for what it is worth, they did have to perform an alignment.

Dropped it off this morning at one of the dealers in Toronto.. hope I get it back before the weekend for a track day (should have scheduled this after the track day, oh well). Cayenne e-hybrid loaner, now I'm playing the efficiency game.....

Picked mine up today. Two days in the shop. Got a fresh alignment. Asked the SA to tell me the official date range for the recall. She looked it up: All cars between 11/30/15 and 9/27/16. Since both of those are mid-week days I'm not sure if it was inclusive or exclusive of those actual days. In any event hope this helps as there has been some discussion on this thread over the effective date range for the recall. My car was a June 2016 build so clearly within the range.

Quick question to anyone that's had the recall done....I have about 100 miles on my new tranny, and yesterday I noticed a few small drops of fluid ( purple in tint ) right at the back portion of the motor. Anyone else notice this ?

Clean underneath mine. Suspect the dealer didn't clean up completely on the install. Definitely would keep an eye on it though to self assess whether it is a leak vs left over from an uncleaned spill at installation.

To replace a transmission they have to disconnect the coolant lines that run to the oil cooler on the side of the transmission. That sounds like a coolant leak possibly a faulty clamp on the coolant line or they didn't reconnect it properly. Good luck carl

Interestingly enough, my invoice showed no pricing whatsoever for the WJ88 campaign.
Unlike some of the invoices posted here, every line item was N/C and it was 0.00 for labor, parts, and amount due.

The invoice I took home had all zeros. They showed me their service copy which had warranty costs. Mine was roughly $13,700

Thanks guys... that's what I was hoping and thinking is that its some coolant clamp that might not be quite right. It's going in after the holiday weekend.

Hey guys,

Do you have some play in your gears like mine?

This is with the new gear box.

Edit: not sure the video attached as it should have. I will upload from my computer soon.

Edit 2: Video:

I haven’t had a transmission replacement as I have an early build (6/15), but that looks and sounds like excessive play. My shift lever does not move that much laterally when slotted into gear. Interested to see what other guys are experiencing with these replacements transmissions.
