Hmmm due to it being an entire transmission I feel like they will just ignore and fix as they come.

 

Porsche replaced entire engines in the GT3 after the issue was identified.

 

This could be the case but they should at least notify the effected owners and inform them of their intent to replace the tranny if a failure occurs. Even if it is after the warranty is up.........Phil

 

Liability becomes an issue if Porsche recognizes a problem and does not address the issue (recall and replace).

If a 3rd gear were to fail either on the street or even a hpde and cause an accident then the attorneys would have a field day.

 

Dealer just called and said he expects transmission to be here on 1/17. I guess we'll find out!

 

Just found this. Starts around 5:17, look at the gear indication in the IC as well.

 

Great find for experiencing the 3rd gear issue on video as it happens. The body language of the driver is priceless!

 

Now here is a real gear box failure

 

Add one more to the list. At Barber this weekend. Went from 2nd to 3rd and it gave me a big thud. Well, crap.

Car has 6 track days... 4300 miles, June 2016 build.

What's the latest average wait time? Any decent loaners?

Maybe it's already time to upgrade!.

Jeez...I have a May 2016 build and have a feeling of inevitability about this happening.

 

Here's mine on video... no warning, no grind, no mis-shift... it just went. The whole car shuddered.

I've been reading this thread for months and immediately knew what happened.

Headed to dealer tomorrow.

 

11 weeks since I turned my car in..... still waiting.
