Santa must have promised them something big for Xmas.........

Not sure if this is still the thread to log failures, but another one for those keeping the database. Houston/my car. Delivered May 2016 so I assume fairly late build. Exact scenario as reported-- no warning, brake, turn, downshift to third and nothing there. Other gears work. 3000 total miles only a few light (i.e. wet) track days. Waiting to hear from dealer on timing, but when mine was dropped the service adviser said they had another that had been there for a few weeks.

If you send your info for the columns of the spreadsheet to Steve0827, he'll add it. He's the database owner.

No, mine is brand new, just happen last Thursday. I have provided Steve the info he needs to get mine in the database. When mine was dropped at Porsche North Houston last Friday my service advisor told me there was one that had been there for two weeks so it may be one of the two Houston cars previously reported. Mine is an April 2016 build so right in the window that seems to be the issue. thx

add me to the list. All I had was a more consistent 2nd to 3rd gear grind. Brought it to dealer, they told porsche the symptoms and porsche said to replace. I have no idea in terms of timing, but my dealer will call me tomorrow with some kind of ETA.
Car info-
1) Feb 16 delivery
2) 11 total track days
3) mileage - 5300
I do have a question. My SA said if the transmission takes a long time to get in they want me to bring my loaner back and for me to take back my car. He said as long as I don't go crazy I should be fine. However, i want to keep the loaner if something is indeed wrong with the car. Seems like something I can argue?

This is my 2nd major failure in less than a year. If this takes 2 months to fix, Porsche will have had my car for 4 months out of 13

I would NOT drive a car with a known defect.
What if it breaks in traffic and the defect causes YOU to cause an accident, and someone is hurt (or worse), or you are hurt?
I'm not an attorney - but from a liability perspective it seems to me it would be disastrous to accept the risk of driving a car with a known defect that is waiting for a repair, because the dealer wanted their loaner back until the part arrived.
And I doubt Porsche will give you "carte Blanche" in writing - but even if they did and then the worst happened....can you live with yourself?
I know this is a worst case scenario and maybe very unlikely - but I'd be uncomfortable with that possibility.
