I just saw a few references to the database for the gearbox failures. Sorry, I've been pretty busy recently.
If you those of you who have experienced a failure would pm me or post in the thread, I'd really appreciate it. I won't have time to go through all 22 pages of this thread until next Monday/Tuesday.

Have there been any cars that had a failure their first track day? I don't think so but not sure. Reason why I'm asking because isI'm going to Spring mtn soon. Had 3 tracks days on my first 4 ,no trans issues. Now I'm getting paranoid . It would be a 372 mile tow home...c

As predicted, the response from Getrag to the email I sent them last weekend and posted about in this thread, was a referral to seek assistance from the car OEM. Pretty generic reply. My email to them had a link to this thread and I recommended they read the entire thing, but no acknowledgement of that occurring was received. No surprises here.

On the plus side someone from Getrag probably did look at this link. Companies are currently a little more in tune to what is being posted on the web than they were in the past.

it is certainly inconvenient. and believe me none of the failed boxes so far compares remotely close to the **** i had. as much as i bitch and moan about PAG PCNA, they usually step up more than any other manufacturers i dealt with and i have dealt with many.
my other p car failures waited 6 months, car is fully disabled. but it's like making babies you know. you cant bitch and moan why your gf/wife need to be on bed rest for 2 months. it is just what it is. you can't hurry it. they will happen. be patient (spoke by someone with zero patience, side story, brought cars in for some work got tired of waiting, drove a new car home after 40 mins)... but to ask for extended warranty b/c one waited 2 - 3 months i dont think it's fair though. if you were the manufacturer, would you extend all these warranties? i wont
we have owned p cars since 1972 and literally every variant of stuff they make, they ALL HAVE ISSUES. we will get over it.
NO, i am not their spokesperson and i dont work for them.
i call it as i see it.

This is kind of a big deal I think ;-( , its not just an inconvenience. I wish there was concrete info coming from Porsche.

^ they will come up with something, so far they cover all under warranty.
i dont think i said it is not a big deal.
inconvenience to me is a big deal.
i have had way bigger failure than just transmission.
