You are talking about the axial orientation (?), but also the radial because it is not round?!

Right, the oval shape of the gasket is aligned to the oval shape of the manifold.
In section it's symmetrical, so other than that there is no particular front or rear orientation.

Update: My hiss is gone.
The large rubber gaskets were not 100% aligned.
There were "small bumps" in the rubber in the area were the two clamps connect on the rear side.

I ordered the FVD with 2.75" pipes and without valves.
PSE is 2.25", and the various GT3 options are 2.5".
Don't like the straight cut tips with the FVD imprint, will swap those out for Soul slash cut.

Rhonda (rhonda.roxburgh@fvd.net) was able to order the mufflers for me from M&M without the cheesy 981 and GT4 branding plates.
Can use code 5off for 5% discount.

They made my custom order into a standard offering;
https://www.fvd.net/us-en/BES9811500...e-dampers.html

According to Rhonda `Your muffler will also include 2 small back fire dampers which is the latest revision from M&M. So if you run your GT4 without cats or with sport cats you will never have issues as the backfires without cats can actually destroy the mufflers.'

Here's a picture of them on a race system;

I know someone into the UK that runs that big bore 2.75 full system (headers to tips) without valves (pre backfire muffler update).... was tuned in Germany by Jens Ehresmann... car pulls like train to the new redline, and sounds great....not to much louder that stock... in fact when tested is quieter than PSE due to the bore.... but still sounds like Porsche... more motorsport and pure, than theatre. Very cool.
Car is also running the equivalent of the 981 GT4 MR package.. with KW Clubsport 3-ways + MR lower arm package.

That's what I miss from when I ran the Dundon race exhaust, that rush to redline.

I am enjoying that rush now

What's the ETA on the new exhaust?

Hey Ben, that's one extreme exhaust!
No ETA, but that isn't a bad thing, I have a room full of parts for various projects waiting for me.

It's an extreme exhaust thanks to you Can't wait to hear your impressions of the FVD setup when you have it installed.

Thanks, my tests trying to tame it may have given myself some recruitment type hearing damage in the human voice range, mostly abated since.
Peak is -12.2dbFS with it modified, so be safe and don't exceed the daily dose of time in the loud zone, or wear ear plugs.
That number is subtracted from 120db, but I'm not sure if it's A, B or C weighted.

I reckon it's done more miles in the air than on the road though!

Yes, I spent way too much time under the car. :(
Can't take much credit though, at the end I just changed to straight through Ti non perforated muffler cores, which raised the loudness frequency up out of the drone zone.
If it hasn't already been done, I'd suggest tack welding the slip fit connectors to each end of the core so it can't loosen up.
