Tbh, I'm not sure. It's going to take a lot of time to recoup the costs. The only reason I did this was to get more life out of my tires. All of this is probably buying me 2 extra days out of the tires. I'm going to have to go through around 20 sets of re71r tires just to get my money back. I don't know if I'll go through that many before I move onto the next gt4.....

I've done 2:04 in the spyder and 2:01 in the gt4 over the top.

So currently for me it is 3 seconds, but I think the real difference given similar conditions and better driving is 4 seconds.

I want a good time without cheating! Lol. Chasen is on Hoosiers and major power upgrades. Potter runs a similar setup as mine and does 1:58. That is my goal. I feel fairly confident I can 1:59 if I can just get weather in the 70-80s. I know he ran 1:49 at Sonoma vs my 1:50. I need to use more track like he does. Using more track and trying not to go off is tough!

Potter isn't human. :-) He uses ALL the track and sometimes a lot more than the track lol he's probably close to 155 with chasens tires. Besides ALL is class legal in the DE Cup!

I need more weekday track events and private days if I plan on doing more than 20 track days per season, there are only so many good groups to go out with during the weekends (PCA groups, SD, and star cars). Plus hustlin to pay for all this gets in the way on weekends.

And a cool suit so you can take it out when it's 100 out :-) I got lucky with a few days during normally punitive weather.

Have you guys seen a cool suit system in a street cayman? I'd be interested in understanding how easy it would be to throw one of these in the car for track days and then remove it when needed. (Strap it down in the trunk area?)

Looks small enough to fit behind seat. ApexPerformance or Traqgear

These look like a good compact solution.

It is.

I have the TraqGear. It fits behind the seat on the back shelf and I
secure it with straps to the tie downs. It fits neatly between the
roll cage bars. Hose comes down behind the seat and connects
to the shirt. Power via the lighter plug.

You fill it with Gel / Ice bricks and water. On a really hot
day (like most summer days at Thunderhill), it will keep you
cool for 2 20min sessions before you have to change the gel packs / ice.

Only thing to watch for - it won't circulate if one of the hoses
disconnects, which can sometimes happen if you don't connect
it properly when you are in a hurry to get in the car.

Highly recommended.

Thanks for the review! Do you have any pictures of your setup that you could share? I'm having a hard time visualizing the entire water pack up on top of the engine shelf (unless it's tilted on its side?).

Does any water leak out of these things whatsoever when you are connecting / disconnecting them to the suit?

The suits also appear to have lines that overlap with a shoulder harness. Stupid question I'm sure, but is there no issue with accidentally pinching off the lines and blocking flow once the shoulder harnesses are cinched down?

I may have to get these a shot... my poor man's "cool suit" has just been to avoid Thunderhill for 4-5 months a year. :P
