That is correct. My shop tested both links. The older link gives about 3mm clearance with 11" OZ, no spacer needed.
Sounds like you might have to run the space, and maybe even a 7mm spacer at that based on the info 9972RS gave me. He confirmed 19x11" working with the older toe link and NO spacer.
The older tarett rear toe link. it's listed as "toe link all 981". Part# ERP981.009
Do not get the "newer" 981tlnk. it has less clearance than oem.

I don't see RE-71Rs listed in OEM sizes on Tire Rack's website -- did those numbers come from a rep? And are they actually available for purchase if we contact such a rep or do they just have pricing information before actual availability? If that's true though, that's a savings of almost $800 per set!

Yeah, Joe has the bump steer toe links, which are the third possible Tarett variant. There are the classic non-bump steer links, the new ones called "toe control arms", and the bump steer links that I believe are based off of the classic design.

IAW with Bridgestone tech support tires are being made and stockpiled in Japan at present. Maybe they are expecting a run and are trying to avoid the ever present shortage Michelin is experiencing.

Well only if it's true that the old links offer better clearance, but that doesn't make sense to me. The new ones specifically say "Clears 19-inch wheel on a GT4", which leads me to believe that that's why they were created. Anyone feel like calling Ira?

Joe - the RE71-R tires are smaller 245/40/19 and 285/35/19, so they fit the OZ wheels perfectly.
I noticed no negative effect. However, I'm likely slower than you are, so who knows.
From what I've read, no one has negative comments.
The Bridgestones don't last any longer, but they are 1/2 the cost. According to USC Trojan, they aren't slower either. Can't comment on that, my Cup II's are in a storage locker with 200 street miles on them. I saw the price difference early!
