This is why I went with GT Silver.
If you look historically, the red/black interiors went with silver exteriors
on the racing cars up until around 1964 when the exteriors went to white.
Check out the 550 Spyder, the 918 RSK, RS60/61 etc., then the 904 ...
The 906, 908 ... went to white.

The 906, 908 ... went to white.
So 550s, 718 RSK (RS60, RS61, W-RS) & 904 were all in GT class & sold to many customers,
who decided to have them painted in various colors when they ordered the car from Porsche.
See this period 904 at Silverstone in 1964:

But I grant you that quite a number of the race cars were originally painted 'silver' which
is the second (not the original) racing color associated with Germany. 'White' is Germany's
official & historic competition color.

Interior colors varied a great deal too. Most original 904's I have seen had Dralon acrylic
fiber fabric on the seats in odd colors like in this almost 'aquamarine blue':

The 906, 908, 910, etc were all dedicated race cars with almost no 'street' application.
They were categorized as 'Prototype' class and strictly considered a competition vehicle.
Very few were made compared to previous race-able street cars like the 550s, 718s & 904s.
Over 100 904s were made, but only 50 906s, 25 910s, etc. And to simplify matters & save
money, Porsche had all bodies done in 'white'!

And the interiors were also done uniformly for the same reasons. In restored form,
they look like this:

My guess is that someone didn't realize that guards red and garnet red are two completely different reds?

I went with the red intakes based on the color of the calipers and I added the red washers to balance it out in front, but I went rhodium because I thought white would be trying to coordinate too many colors. I took a chance to be sure but I'm going to hold my judgement until I see my car which is basically all grey/silver and red.

The 3D builder app does a bad job representing color accents, especially red ones. They look cool with the red brakes but when reality and real world light hit the accent parts...

for PTS by Porsche. It would first have to be ordered by a client &
then feasibility tested by PAG. That will take time.

Porsche does have several gray colors available on the approved list.
'Fashion Grey/Modegrau' is an 356 Pre-A color from the early
1950's which is quite popular as PTS today.

PS I have presently ordered a 2016 Audi RS7 in 'Nardo Gray'. It is
the only solid/uni color offered by Audi on the RS7. It's not offered
on any other Audi as a standard color at the present time, so it's
rather uncommon to find in Audis too. Most importantly, it's costing
me $0 to order it. So rare & special color at no charge!

As I previously said in an earlier post here, I would not be surprised if the leather in the items you guys are wondering
about (steering column, door sills) will be done in 'Black' given that it's a two-tone interior, with the bottom half in 'black',
whether those are 'black' plastic or 'black' leather or 'charcoal/black' alcantara.

now, the only item remaining in question are the inner leather door sills... and whether those are red? I have yet to see anyone with the red interior who was crazy enough to spend money on those outside of myself...
Makes a potentially annoying reflection in the tach.
