Sorry if this information was already written somewhere (I did some search but no luck).
I heard some guys online talking that 718 GTS 4.0 cannot be converted to the 4,5 liter engine.
AFAIK the engines are the same, the GTS is just slightly detuned via ECU, yes?

Since I think we allow shameless plugs in this thread... I have a Deman 981 Cayman S for sale, $95K with standard seats, $105K with buckets. 53700 miles on the chassis, 2280 miles on the engine. Obviously it's a bit of a weird niche conversion but I can't imagine anyone having a faster car for the same price.

What oil is everyone running these days? Either of these 300V or Sport? Car is street driven… I know…

 

The one Rick told me to use is the top one. If you change your own oil and can be a bit organized, the oil changes are 'free' if you use FCPEuro (well, cost of shipping which is about $25). Just did my second return of 3-cars worth of oil and filters (and brake fluid) and they refunded me almost $350! I'm going to try to stay on a cycle and do as many as I can at the same time, as long as the car in question has at least some miles on it since the last change. I have two kids local so am maintaining 7 cars that are driven and one boy is getting an additional car. Yikes. By being 'organized" I mean keeping a stash of small-ish boxes, packing material, tape, return address labels, clear bags, 'this side up' labels, etc. to make it as easy and fast as possible to get it boxed and out of the garage. You learn stupid little things like you can't ship (with USPS) using beer case boxes even if they do not have alcohol in them, and they are picky about where labels are placed.

 

FYI, it seems the bottom product is the replacement. I ordered the top from FCP Euro (always great service/quick shipping) and received the bottom.

Yep, just got this yesterday.

 

I had a blast running head to head with Luca in nearly identical cars, the two GT4’s. We passed the slower cars twice on a 2.5 mile circuit in less than 25 minutes. We each got promoted from DE-2 to DE-3 after that. In DE-3, I had the fastest laps in the group for that day. It’s going to take a lot more seat time to learn what this GT4 can do at the limits, which I am looking forward to.

Phil’s DeMan GT4 Clubsport, running in DE-4, had fast lap times, but Ealing’s 991 eaked out the fastest time of the weekend. He is a phenomenal driver and coach.

 

I concur!!!! Scott has some very good driving skills and was behaving very predictably and consistent around the track; that combined with the matching performance of the two cars made it some of the most fun I've ever had playing cat and dog on a race track... Plus I finally got to hear how our GT4 sounds when under load out in the track...
