It can be extremely short if you want to buy something already converted 😉: https://rennlist.com/forums/market/1323736

I would love to hear Rick’s thoughts on this as well. Also anyone else with multiple track seasons.

I've done about 15 track events since 2020 with the 4.5L (totaling about 18-20 days), and put 13,000 miles on the motor. I don't know if that qualifies as "long term," but aside from some plugs that needed troubleshooting early on (incorrect heat range; the current plugs have been in since ~1000 miles and no issues), and a coolant expansion tank deciding to give up the ghost at 65,000 miles (which is apparently more common than you'd think), it's been a smooth ownership experience, with Rick being an invaluable resource all along the way.
Recommended oil intervals are 5000 miles—and you'll have seen some discussion re: oil just a week or so ago in this thread—but in terms of any "special" maintenance there's honestly nothing to speak of. Emissions I suppose are the one thing that require attention (if you go to my marketplace thread I address it), but if you're in a state/province that doesn't check for stock cats (i.e. anywhere other than California), it's just a matter of switching to an emissions map and setting the monitors (I've done it the past couple years here in NY and it's passed no problems).

Sorry, I went for the shameless plug earlier but didn't actually offer up anything constructive 😬

I would be interested in you car but I live in Canada and there is whole process to go through to bring the car here which would mean you would have to be open to a discount etc etc. pm me separately if there is An appetite.
in the mean time @DeMan Motorsport I am interested to hear from you on your past builds and how well they hold up over multiple track seasons.
the other item is regarding noise, does Rick have a quiet or at least track-day noise compliant version of this build? We have tracks here with noise regulations.

And re: noise, if you have cats and keep the stock PSE, you won’t have any problems. Lime Rock has a 86dB limit and I’ve never had issues with getting flagged for noise. Catless + PSE will likely be too loud, though. For tracks where the sound check location is known, you can also get a Track Nanny (Google it) and have it programmed for your home track.

Does anyone in SoCal have one of these they'd be willing to let another member check out? Ride or drive? I'd love to know what I'm missing and see if I catch the bug.

So one helpful thing I learned with my first winter now with my 4.5 991.1 GTS in PDK... the Cobb PDK tune may cause you issues when it's cold out if you're using the high torque or sequential maps (includes the high clutch pressure). I think it's due to the increased clutch pressure in the high torque maps (persisted even after PDK relearn). I had a few instances of PDK going into limp mode when temps were consistently in the 30s and low 40s and the car is being started for the first time that day.
What fixed it was reflashing to the OEM+ PDK map at least while it's cold out. No adverse issues I've seen whatsoever after doing this (note: you'll have to do a PDK relearn which takes 20 min or so and needs to be done w/ the car having been driven 40 min or so till it's at temp). I'll probably go back to the high torque PDK map when it's warm again since it does improve shifting over stock.

also interesting he went with fabspeed catted headers and not deman’s. Is there that much of a difference in db between the 2 ?

Why is stock mufflers horrendous, if the customer doesnt want additional volume, nor drone, above what the sport cats already provide?
