It looks like the process takes roughly 8-10 weeks to complete from start to finish. You ship your car out to Deman in NY, they drop the engine complete the upgrade and then it gets shipped back out to you? I have started the process and will be shipping my car to them shortly from Colorado.

Just sent them my car. They put you in touch with a transportation broker (who’s really good) and then it gets transported to them. When it’s done it’s the same process apparently. Pretty easy. You’ll want to do enclosed transport.

To give you an idea, Oregon -> NY was around $2100 enclosed one way.

What an outstanding motor.

Picked up my 981 Cayman S from Deman on Friday and drove it back to the Midwest. Even in break-in mode it's wild fun. Rick and Mattie were stand up guys and great to meet.

Aside from the 4.5L motor, they also threw in LWB seats, a 718 GT wheel (makes the interior feel completely new), 991 GTS brakes, and a third radiator. Couple that with the X73 suspension already on the car and some Apex wheels soon to be fitted, this thing is going to be one amazing stealth track weapon.

Default 4.5L at NJMP.

Sorry no sound as I forgot the external mic.

By the end of the weekend I could have been handing out DeMan business cards. Hope Rick sends me a commission.

Drag race down the front straight vs. an instructor in GT4 on Hoosiers was not even close (prompting a visit from that owner). Tough to work on consistency when you are frequently passing off-line/on-line/mid-corner.

Thanks Rick.

Sorry to bump this thread back up, but does DeMan and/or anyone here know how many cars have been converted. Specifically Spyders? I'm going to begin my search for a new toy and while the 718 Spyder is one of the choices, finding a 718 DeMan Spyder would be awesome to have in the garage for some weekend fun.

Been enjoying the hell out of my 4.5 718 Spyder. Posted some of my more complete thoughts on the thread over on the 718 sub forum, but I just want to say that @Rick DeMan is a genius for building and offering this package. What an absolute monster.
