You may be right about the Big Bangle Theory (sorry, couldn't resist). Let's hope it's only limited to that model.

I'll admit that Porsche managed to clean up the lines of the Cayenne this year; subtle differences, but better nonetheless. I also like the new 911 headlight treatment (back to the original shape). We can be thankful that the 911, at least, demands its sculptor maintain its general lines.

I hope that IF Porsche decides to follow through w/ a 2 door version of the Panamera (although unlikely) they execute the design a little differently. I'm glad I've still got the Aston Martin to lust after though.

My view of the Big Bangle is that it represents a design team who've concluded the existing look is strong enough that it's too hard to constantly top.

So they "take the hit" all in one horrific step, producing an absolutely awful new generation of cars that can then be easily made to look better every 3 years.

Beginning with the 996........and this "thing" is included.....ugh! or Fugh ! The only possible exception is the Cayman. And to think that I have been preparing to hide some cash for the day the new 928 appears. Forget that. I think I'll restore my 928 and keep it another 20 years.

I will reserve any further comment until I see it in person. Sure would be cool to have a 4 door Porsche that is nearly as capable as their 911 or Cayman.

Best profile shot so far,--with little to no camo: (sorry for the crappy qual).

This rendering of a potential 9ff version is kind of interesting, too:

http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/24/9...sche-panamera/

However, it does not show the rear spoiler, which moves up and then extends sideways.

Cayenne meet 911.

Not interrested at all if the 2 doors look even remotly to that.

That rendition is just awful. It looks like a big, fat bloated version of the Jaguar E-Type 2+2.

I was speaking to a PCNA rep the other day and he could not tell me anything other than none of the cars used to test the platform look anything like the product that is supposed to be released. Expect a major change from the cars you see in the spy shots apparently the car under the camouflage has been camouflaged.

The Carrera GT and Cayenne spy shot test mules looked an awful lot like the delivered products despite the camo and denial comments.

Either that or Porsche scrambled to "fix" the problem before the release.

Lipstick on a pig comes to mind.......

Well I can't say for sure but I will pass judgment on it after I have had a chance to see it first hand and possibly take it for a spin. Hell the prototype boxster was gorgeous and the end product a disappointment IMO
