Default Newest spy shots of the Panamera

Ok, not sure if this can qualify for posting in the 928 forum as the potential future parent of the two door Panamera("new 928") or if it has to go in OT.

Here the link to an AutoWeek article with the latest spy pics.

Not bad at all, but I still hope it has lots of false panels hiding the real look cause I'm not sure if thats as promising as previous peeks at it.

Looking more and more like an ugly-stepchild-four-door-911.

Looks more like that hideous 4-door 928 concept car they came up with way back when.

Well, talk is the 2 door version will be out in 2011-12. Some valid sources here have said the current factory internal number attached to the planned 2 door model is "928", we can only hope that stays when its produced. A salesman I've known a long time at Brumos Porsche told me last week that with the trend having been towards names not numbers with all models other than the 911 on the official public versions of Porsche models, that more than likely, the two door will simply be the two door Panamera. He said there are always the factory numbers assigned, but those do not necessarily make it to the official name of the vehicle.

Of course, if the two door is as unattractive as the four door, we might just want it to not be called the 928!

I do not want to sound or appear big-headed, but I have seen the Porsche AG official publicity shots, and all I can say is that this is a 'teaser'

And even those refer to the name (Carrera, Carrera S, Carrera 4, Turbo, GT3, etc), rather than actually saying 911 on the car itself. Almost like they're trying to kill that name off, too.

Never fails...the concept will always be cooler than what the public and the powers that "guide" will morph the concept into. First thing I saw was a Lexus GS330, then saw a chopped and dropped Cayenne.

Whatever....it will be what ever it will be and I would almost lay money down, that not one 928 owner on this list will end up owning one for what ever reason.

There is a little writeup and a large artist's rendering of the 2-door in this month's Automobile. It looks pretty good, is targeted for 2011 or 2012 and is referred to as the Panamera GT, though they reference the 928 in the article.

Looks like it will be in a crowded niche, though, with the Aston Martin, Jaguar XK, the new Maserati GT (which I think looks better) and a few hopped up BMW and Mercedes.
