Also, something to be aware of after fix: The Adblue pump may need replacement:

Anyone seeing their RPMs go up and then back down when pressing the accelerator?
I'm seeing it in the "problem range" - 3rd, low-mid 20MPH range. Press the accelerator, RPMs pop up to about 1900, then drop back to ~1400 and the vehicle starts to accelerate at that point. It looks like it might sort of do the same thing in 4th and 5th, too, but the drop, if there, is very subtle.
Also, I'm seeing an increase in lugging. That is, tranny will select 7th gear at about 41ish MPH and hold it, even when accelerating or going uphill until forced to downshift. And lugging to the point you can feel the vibrations in the seat of your pants.

How are you guys driving with your eyes on the tach so much?
Occasionally I'll catch it in a laggy moment but I feel like those moments are more the transmission waffling between wanting to be "eco" vs provide performance. Not so much the motor.

Planning, scanning. I know where the problem conditions are generally and, when safe, will pre-scan the are so I can clear it and safely watch the instruments longer than usual during the evolution.

Today after driving about 160 highway miles I got the flashing glow plug indicator and the car had no power. Transmission would not down shift. I was able to eventually pull over and do an engine restart and the indicator went out and power returned. It is going in Friday for a scan. Car has the fix.
The dealer just called: the car needs a new DPF at 37K miles.

My 2010 Touareg TDI had lag in normal mode but in sport mode it took off with no delay that I could sense, similar to my current Cayenne GTS with the V8.
When I tested a fixed CD, there was really bad lag in both normal and sport mode. The sport button didn’t seem to make any difference. Furthermore, when the turbos kicked in, it was so forceful, that I’d be concerned about potential loss of control if the front wheels weren’t pointed straight ahead.

Regardless of the different engines, is it unreasonable to expect that the Cayenne would be at least as responsive as it’s less expensive corporate sibling, the T-reg? Because the VW was very responsive coming onto throttle in sport mode. The fixed Cayenne, was horrible in both regular and sport modes.
