Right. So, now you know why VW kept it at 10k and covers the HPFP.

I was one of the pre-orders when everyone assumed 10k intervals. Only after delivery did I realize the intervals were 5k. It is my #1 complaint with this car; I do a lot of long trips and sometimes have to find time on a vacation to get the oil changed. Since I live in NJ and so many shops are scammers/inept/crooks/almost as expensive as the dealer, I maintained my car at the dealership to have goodwill and no issues down the road. The costs are ridiculous, which is why I wanted to get out right before this diesel gate happened.

I have enough other DIY right now (e.g., parting out crashed race car) so I have no desire to do the oil changes on this car. Fortunately have finally found a reliable indy to work on the car, which absolutely changes the economics.

I just want closure to this diesel issue so I can plan what's next...

Interesting that now there are others in the mix.

Also taking a closer look at other VWs planned for 2017 and their emissions. Stricter testing? What does that mean especially with respect to what just happened with all the previous models?

Looks like new fix proposal by August, according to statements made to the judge today.

Anyone want to place a wager on if this will be resolved* by 1/1/17? I'm beginning to think not...

* Resolved as in an accepted fix, not that it's been implemented.

The Cayenne diesels cannot be brought into emissions compliance. No repair/zip, what you have is what you get. Enjoy it.

Where did you read this. As I understood it the judge refused to accept the solution presented two weeks ago and set the next review for December

If that is true. Buyback would be the only option.

I've got a VW Touareg tdi; the manager at my porsche dealership says he expects something before 12/31/16 as he has 20 CD sitting in a port that have to be signed off on.

This is only for the 2.0L cars. No word yet on 3.0L diesels. Something is expect I hear now maybe by late Fall. However no guarantee CARB and EPA will accept.

I wouldn't put stock in that claim. We heard claims from dealers about spring and summer already. Dealers are just as in the dark as we are unfortunately.

Please read the article. The parties do talk about the 3.0

Ot: Question for you all.

I've got a 3.0 tdi Touareg. I've been eyeing a new jeep 75th Sahara to replace. Jeep dealer is giving me a considerable discount off msrp. Trade in value on Touareg is 38k with 35k miles.

Would you wait the tdi out? Would I miss out on any concession payments from VW if I take the deal?

Thanks!
Tyler
