I got a 2019 Macan loaner, car wash, interior cleaning, gas fill up, ad blue fill up, inspection including measurement of tire tread and brake pad measurement.

IIRC it wasn't just a "wash" - it was a complete "detail". And they did for mine. Full actual detail - interior shampoo, buff, wax, etc.

I have an appointment on Tuesday to do the AK86 update for my 2016 CD. I don't have check engine light or engine shudder issue so I am hoping that "Updates in this service campaign will not adversely impact your vehicle's driveability, fuel economy, or warranty coverage".

Why does this software update require a letter of authorization from the vehicle's owner (as per the letter that they mailed out)?

I speculate that might be part of the settlement with California air resource board and state attorney. it does make you feel uneasy but that is no difference from all the other stuff that people automatically sign with the social media ?!

I'd guess they modified some vehicles with the original fix without owner's approvals and had to buy the vehicle back or pay out some type of settlement because if it. Because they're messing with the potential driveability, they want your explicit OK to install the new flash.

Come to think about it is also because this campaign is voluntary so Porsche needs you to authorize them to do the work.

The emissions modification service is voluntary, too. No one had to take the settlement dollars or get their vehicle modified.

Having just said that, I wonder if they waited until after the deadline to sign up for the recall money to release this update which, so far, has been pretty darn good.

And no one's biting on the 77.7 MPG picture? Geez... thought there'd be some fun comments on that one. It's completely real. I was skiing last night and coming down off the hill, this was my max MPG displayed. But seriously, by the time I got home mpg average was 35.0 mpg; one of the highest I've ever seen in this vehicle.

I saw the 77mpg.
First impression was "Thats not real!"
Then figured it was all downhill.
These are GREAT vehicles.
But not 77 mpg.
Love the pic.
Thanks for sharing

Taking my 14 CD in tomorrow for both letters + what my indie told me is the rear seal oil leak. My first dealer visit since buying it across town last May, so we’ll see how good the local CPO support (and loaner fleet) is!

Just dropped off wife's 14. Service advisor wrote down 4 separate campaigns on the work order based on what the computer told him and AKB6 was one of them. I do not remember ever receiving a letter, and I have not had any recall work done prior to this visit. I also have a rear main seal leak and he submitted it as warranty claim but will see if Porsche accepts/denies it. Our CD's in-service date was 2013 November, so warranty extension ran out this past Nov.

I was given a Macan 4-cylinder and it is a dreadful engine. It has a good pickup but the noise it makes sound reminds me of 70's Mercedes diesel..... Oh and with barely over 3000 miles, it has adaptive headlight fault and the media system does not output ANY sound, no radio, Nav, streaming audio sound, whatsoever. Can't wait to get our CD back.

Couple hundred miles on the update so far. As I drive it critically, I think I've concluded that the biggest change is really off-boost performance. Throttle tip-in, dead stop, from a roll... the transition to boost is so much smoother and overall it's just more responsive while waiting for boost.

Still very happy with the fix.

Hard to say if fuel mileage really improved. I've "filled up" twice so far but they were both partial fills.

That's a solid mileage over that many miles!

The **best** I've managed was 39.9 over ~50 miles. That was pre-Dieselgate. I took a road trip just before Christmas, which included a 750 mile one-way cruise... and I averaged 32.9. Obviously pre-update. I'll likely do that trip again in the coming year so it will be interesting to get another comparison.

Expect it to be out of service about a week for the oil leak fix. And thank your lucky stars it's getting taken care of under warranty!
