I dumped my 2014 because I know warranty is a factor, it was going to be "up" in a year and it'd be easier to trade now while it's still resellable with a warranty.

I ponied up the money for the new one because with the unlimited mile warranty, I'll drive it into the ground.

When I trade it in it'll have north of 150 on it.

I think warranty is a factor on these because so many of the used ones are still under warranty. Well, almost all of them should be, the '13's are under warranty until '19. So why wouldn't a buyer get one with as much warranty as possible?

As time goes by, and more and more of these fall out of warranty coverage, I don't think the resell will be impacted much. It'll be like any other vehicle out of warranty. Those that were lucky enough to get a CPO'd 8 year/unlimited warranty will be the kings tho. My '15 doesn't have that and runs out of warranty in '21....

I was actually considering a '16 Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel before I found my CD!

I guess there are still some differences between 13-14 to those 15-16. Maybe we, the 13-14 owners, are a bit more sensitive?
Just had my 2014 fixed almost 2 weeks ago now. It's not my daily driver, so I'm not super dialed in on every gnat's a** detail but here's what I notice so far.

1. As mentioned, engine is definitely more eager to hang onto 3rd gear when cold. It's not obnoxious, just different. If you had never owned the car pre-fix, I think you'd never know it wasn't always supposed to be that way.
2. There is a small circumstance, very small, when you get a tiny bit of diesel "clatter". Most of the time the car just has a mechanical purr / growl to it. You don't get that "marbles in a can / old Ford Powerstroke" clatter. But when going very slow and easing into the throttle at low RPM (1,200 to 1,400), I do notice a little of that "clacka-clacka". Just an ever so slight little bit. It doesn't happen at the same RPM while under way and pulling more load. Only reason I noticed it is because I took the car to work and was driving around the property slowly, moving on and off the throttle.

Other than that, fuel economy, performance, power, range all seem to be the same. No smell whatsoever of new parts breaking in.

My wife noticed a little bit of the clatter, but opined that it didn't bother her at all so I'll take the $ and the warranty all the way to the bank. The check was at my house in less than a week.

I haven't read any post from him (Gnat) lately. I hope he is fine. Seems to have stopped posting after early December

Drove the Pepper a bit more yesterday as well. Really very little evidence of anything changing. At this point I am very happy with the fix. Let’s hope it stays that way.

Glad for you and what appears to be the majority of posters on this Board that are happy with the fix. As for me, we’ll, I believe “ the fix was in “ as my 14 was compromised. Oh well, “ Big Brotha “ prevails!

Yeah, we get it - you want everyone to think you were deliberately screwed.

It's getting tiring.

Not really as I got 10 and change just like everyone else. The judge felt that much coin was worth the fix for the vehicles to run differently if in fact that is the case. Some 13 and 14 owners, like myself, have posted a difference and if it helps others make a more informative decision on opting for the fix then great. Have a great day and happy driving!

I have now noticed my 13’ with the fix sometimes stutters between 2nd and 3rd gear and sometimes between 1st and 2nd. Has anyone seen this issue. I am try to determine if the fix is doing this or if it is a tranny issue.

My '15 CD stutters once during warm up usually in third gear. It comes on when releasing throttle pressure and then re-applying throttle pressure. Once warm the car runs in the post fix manner. I've informed my local dealer and PCNA.......no response. It feels like the software doesn't exactly know what to do.

Today I tried keeping the transmission in manual until I had 110 F oil temp - no stuttering observed. I wonder if the manual mode prevents the torque converter from locking up.

Any updates on the 8 year warranty? I'm shopping for a 15/16 right now and most of the dealers I've talked to have no knowledge of it. I see it mentioned in the descriptions of CD's for sale at Porsche Exchange in Chicago but their asking prices seem highly ambitious, I guess that's why they still have 11 CD's in stock.

TIA,

JF
