Not necessarily the shifting, but it’s the throttle mapping that is changed which has me up in arms. Anyone that has ever logged real-time/at home will know what can be changed. Disappointing to say the least.

Thanks for the initial report. Appreciate it.

As an aside, I think the 2.1 is getting the upgraded catalytic system of the 2.2. Vaguely remember that when the 2.2 came out, HP/torque? was slightly higher than 2.1 thanks to those changes. As it is now, I guess you can say 2.1 guys got an upgrade

^^^

I don’t have the fix yet, but can surmise this to be case due to the way “Sport Mode” is set up for both transmission/throttle mapping. The two are related l. Hence they’re both changed and not for the better. I’ll be waiting till the end.

I’ll call PNA and get the lowdown in the hp/to figures. That’s something they’re were told to report as specified in the long form. They have it, but didn’t want to include it......

Edit: Just got off the phone with PNA and spoke with Chris. He mentioned the Maroney figures are the same pre/post fix. Hmmm....something has to give.

USDM numbers were the same across the range. It was the Euro models changed.

Just an update on driving the car from cold start: the car now holds third gear up to 2500 RPM! Almost like a ghost of the departed Sport Mode. Once it warms up the shifting returns to "new normal" which goes out of its way not to lug the engine anymore. I hope to have some calculated highway MPG numbers early next week. The dealer barely filled the tank so I wanted to start with a real full tank.

Ok so does that mean it's much quicker to downshift vs. use the low-end torque?

Do we know if it's required/manadatory for dealers who have CD's on their lot to pump them through the service department for a fix?

My local dealer has a 15 CD on the lot. If it's been fixed I'm gonna go drive it just to do an A/B comparison and see the differences for myself.

From my recollection of a conversation with the sales dept, they won't do the fix on their unsold inventory until after taking care of current owners first. Just hearsay

I shot a note to the sales manager.

He didn't comment on what's normal or not - but the CD they have is *not* fixed. He said he'd call me when they get a fixed one in for me to drive.

That's what I've heard, too. In fact, I was snooping around some of the new, unsold CDs and the dealership told me they won't fix (and thus, sell) them until customer cars are fixed.
