You can get insurance on a car you don't own so it won't work.

Anyone have visibility into the carb review process?

Curious as to whether they got the modification proposals in under the wire and (better) if there's any chance they'll be rejected triggering a buyback for the later cars.

Sit and wait some more. I like the idea of a free oil change, something I read before.
I got the same email except for the reference number Did I miss something? What free oil change? That's about $400-$500 at the dealer... My local specialist charges half that amount.

Hmm, the operator in the phone told me insurance was OK, surprise they have mixed messaging about what is OK in their playbook at the call center.

It is becoming more apparent they have " how can we not do it" rather than how can we help to get the owner through this . I finally called PCNA and they were very helpful and pleasent ..... we shall see

It should be easy in your case if you are the only owner(s) and only file one time per vehicle. All the money goes to you unless you file multiple times per vehicle as multiple owners per vehicle. Even if you file multiple times, then you will just get separate checks.

I don't think they're trying to get out of it. In fact, getting out of this - as in not meeting the participation rate target - would cost them more money.

I suspect it's just getting the system up and running, people properly trained on what is and isn't in compliance with the settlement and the initial slug of applications that causes the confusion.

Of course, I accept the fact that I could be wrong here... time will tell if they are dragging their feet.

I will accept your comment as a training issue especially from some of the other comments but my goodness they are trying to make this hard. The PCNA data base has all ownership data and dealer who sold the car as soon as they get a VIN from you. One of the documents they refused from me was the copy of the drivers license which was so clear that not only was every word completely legible but even the state background could be clearly seen. I was then told that once they declare it illegible even if they later see that it was mistake the will not reload the copy but instead require the owner to re-submit the package. That's more than a learning curve, that is policy. I'm hopeful that all is done for me but I'm not holding my breath for logic to prevail.
