So I got my offer letter to sign this am for my '14 TDI.
Here's my question - what if the fix isn't approved?
I still haven't heard that one was submitted let alone went through the hoops to get approved.
Anyone have an answer to this?

Might be time to just call them and see if they can straighten it out. Or alternatively, you can call or email the plaintiffs lawyers - PSC - and tell them you are getting nowhere with the process. They had informed the court they would also be able to work with class members to straighten out any issues. Good luck.
PS - I have emailed the PSC folks a few times and they have always responded within a couple days, most of the time with helpful info.

If the approved fix neuters your vehicle (-3 MPG or -5% Peak HP or -5% Peak Torque), they offer an additional $500. But you (as in the class) can "seek additional remedies" and, of course, VW can oppose that. It'd be back to court in that case, but I think all sides know that we - the class - would probably want a buyback in that case. Hopefully, this pittance means they're confident the fix they are working on/testing won't impact those measurements. Of course, if it means you have to fill the DEF every thousand miles, that would be a problem, too, because you'd be tied to a DEF jug. Even if VW agrees to provide free refills.
Or, you could pay back any money you received and opt out to sue yourself if the fix doesn't seem good to you.

Yeah this is the only thing that scares me.... if they measure success at PEAK values... they could still totally neuter the vehicle since what makes these things so enjoyable happen in the fat of the curve - not at the high point.

Glad you guys are getting your settlements now...wonderful to hear. Sorry its not what most of you expected or some desired. Looks like the other shoe has dropped with VW in Germany now possibly. Very unexpected...tons more diesels there in Europe than here to consider and deal with. God help VW-AG.

I just got an email about a half hour ago from the claims portal that my settlement package is ready to download.
Please download your offer letter. To accept your offer, you must sign the offer letter and sign a release in the presence of a Notary Public and send both documents back to Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. Please check the box confirming your offer selection, have all claimants (including any co-claimant) sign and date the letter, and complete the enclosed release form in the presence of the Notary Public. Upon receipt of your returned materials, they will be reviewed for completeness.

I found it interesting that the settlement package was dated May 30. VW basically waited a week to send the email. I guess they are simulating snail mail speed?

So a few questions for the forum:
1) You have to set an appointment? Is that on the phone or do you have to take your Cayenne in for inspection?
2) Where is the Bosch settlement update? I understand that all of the paperwork that we are submitting for the Porsche settlement is also forwarded to Bosch and we do not need to do anything else. There are no updates on Bosch site since I registered last month?
