Because the gubbment has to get its pound of flesh, and they don't care about a company's customers.
Or, to be really cynical, perhaps they do and know that by dragging their feet, denying fix options for technicalities or whatever, it'll **** us all off, adding to that pound of flesh without overtly doing so.
OK, maybe it's time to go make a tin foil hat.

My 2015 went down $1,300 in two months, with 2,100 more miles, according to Edmunds. Black Book gives an increase of $3,200. Pretty low depreciation with model year change upon us.

Last time the Service Manager checked (August?) the record still showed 100k.

Searcher: I also received no correspondence at all on this, but my SA showed me my file on his screen when I was recently in the dealership. It clearly showed the addition of 2 additional years, on top of the 2 year extended warranty I purchased. But very poor communication from Porsche on this.

CD Values
Based on this article, the values of our CDs have to take a significant hit:
http://jalopnik.com/porsche-will-sti...-yo-1789381052
"With a fix in the works for the Volkswagen Group’s 3.0-liter TDI V6 motor, Porsche will soon be able to sell you a “new” diesel Cayenne—but only by making them used cars with a hefty discount."
The class lawyers better get the 2.0 deal exactly (plus a higher compensation). Otherwise be prepared to drive them till they fall apart.

Similar report as the Jalopnik article here:
http://autoweek.com/article/vw-diese..._medium=social
I fear for my CD value if the market is flooded with "new" ("used") '15s & '16s.
But somehow this doesn't make sense.
Who will take title to the unsold cars? If I were a Dealer, I'm not sure I would want to "own" distressed merchandise.
Will any compensation to owners be increased because of market manipulation?
Lots more questions. The devil is in the details, and there are plenty of details to sort through.
This only complicates things (if it's true).
